Exhaust Removal
so i just recently took off my exhaust from the cat. its sounds mean as hell, yet also a little nasty. so i was wondering if this would effect my interior in any way(of course sound wise). what i mean is, am i gonna get heat near the shifter b/c of the exhuast outlet beeing right there!? and if i would get considerable heat there is it recommended to put a heat deflector down there?
Damn cuz,
Roun here, you get a fat azz ticket for that.
Not to mention Co2 poisoning.......
Seriously, I probably wouldn't drive it around like that forever, you can really gat sick from the exhaust blowing right in the cabin....
But I bet it sounds really cool....

Same thing as a cutout. People do it all the time. Just don't do it too much or your children will come out with two heads
.
I run no cat on a 3". Wanna' talk about sounding mean and naaaasty? But I run it out the back, I feel bad for the people behind me when I am in traffic, sometimes.
I have heard a couple of catless side exits, and a couple of catless e-cutouts, they are beyond mean; they just hurt.
My ears[

PLUS - now you have a little idea of why you really want to get a 3" downpipe with a race cat(or none). And a good exhaust(or the aformentioned cutout - you canget an electronic one that works from inside the cabin).

OK. its been about 4 days since ive taken my exhuast out from cat. and you guys are right it sounds mean as hell. the only way the fumes get into the cabin is when you rape ur car. other than that i dont get any fumes or funky smells coming into my car. but what im worried about is that since my exhaust ends right under my shifter, i dont want my center console to heat up so im building a heat shield that will hopefullyreflect the heat to the ground. and another thing...i was wondering if this would reduce the life of my cat b/c its exposed a little bit more to the air than form stock? i get looks every where. and you do have to be careful with cops b/c if you rev to 3-4 K while shifting normally you will be heard and prob ticketed. but if you drive briskly its perfectly fine. so verdict is cops can bust you if you get ur revs out of control and its sounds bad ***! but dont feel any power gains b/c its just horses and u cant feel horse..

Hee hee, YES! I run no cat on a 3" with no resonators at all. Completely custom. The rear section is painted black to match with the car, and instead of the exhaust going above the sway, it goes below and comes back up around the rear of the spare tire well. People have insulted it. But once you get the true 3" run it through the back (3" 02 housing, flex pipe and all), and you hear that turbo whirring.....good lord is that a cargasam if ever there was one

And yes I feel bad for people also. Especialy when the burning oil smell starts coming through. I really need to empty my intercooler one of these days. [>:]

if its too loud/smells awful, just put the middle piece back on and leave just the back piece off...still gets the job done, isnt quite as loud, and at least all the fumes and **** will be dumping near the back of the car so it should never get up in the cabin
