Default 03' or 04' - Differences?Which do you prefer?

Hey guys hows everyone doing? As you all know I will be purchasing an SRT-4 my senior year of high school(YES!!!!)so I am learning new things about the car everyday. And I was just wondering,I have heard that 05's have problems here and there but havent really heard which would be better out of the two earlier years. Is there anything different between the 03' and 04'?Is one faster than the other?Theres 03's going for 16 grand in Fl.(used) and I was just curious as to which one you guys would prefer. Is there more after market parts for the 03' or 04'?Im not looking for a huge write up but I was just curious if anyone new if there were any problems with one or the other(if there even were any from the beginning?)As usual any input will be greatly appreciated, thanks alot for your guys time!!

^^^^^^YUP.

One question, what have you driven, jaydubb?

Just a word of caution, the srt-4 does take an experienced driver to control, at times; it can get away from u pretty quick. So, being young as you are, if you get one, be careful. (But have fun - the car is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaast) There are way too many good young people wrapping them around trees.

lsd is over rated. i've driven my srt with and without lsd, and the only difference is during my burn outs. it's better for the snow, but since you're in fl that doesn't matter.
doesn't matter about the injectors, as soon as you put s1 on they are exactly the same. however 03's have more factory freaks than 04's and seem to run faster (just my observation).

03's and 04's have the same warranty. not that it matters, dodge will give you hell to honor it either way.

i would buy a used 03 and get an 04 tranny (can be had for around 1k) and you'll probably still pay less than a used 04.

You say the LSD is overrated, but thats because you are a great driver, and can launch with 370 hp on 225s anyways. For him, without much experience (like me) wouldnt the lsd be more valuable than it is to you, who have obviously mastered the launch regardless? And the only diff in the tranny is the lsd correct?

but do you think he is buying the car to drag it everyday? I got an 03 and i love it it has a s1 which i didnt know about when i got it from the dealer, so that saved me some pennies, god only know what else it has. For the money go with an 03 just make sure to put s1 kit in atleast, because in 03 it was only 215hp stock 04 is 230 but with the stage one you get 240 for like $400 sounds like a deal to me! The real thing these people are trying to say is WHEN YOU FIND ONE BUY ONE!!!! Thats the best advice you can always buyy a longer warrenty or anything else dont worry about small things like that, find a car that makes you happy, dont buy the first one you see because buyingg a used car is alot harder then buying a new one, no two are the same!!! Keep that in mind, well now i think everyone threw thier two cents in and you can make a worthy decision, good luck and keep us posted

PS i found mine just cruising the lots 03 20k miles stage1 15900 so just keep your eyes out and go walk the lots when they are closed so you dont get bothered!

just because dodge said it had 215 doesn't mean that it actually did. both 03's and 04's dyno in the 220-240 hp range. dodge was just closer to the truth when they gave the power ratings for 04. bigger injectors don't give you more power.

Hmmmm, good Point PSI CHICK.Well,I would like to have an 04' from everything you guys have told me but whatever is right at the time being im not going to pass up.The thing that stinks is the the ones I find for cheap(15-16G's) have already been hooked up.I want something I can make my own but again,im not going to pass up an 03 with 20K Miles for $15,000 flat out when alls it has done is an intake and a BOV.Thanks again guys for all your help, and thanks for replying so quickly PSI CHICK!
