i have never done it but i believe the swap is bolt in, and you may wanna swap the engine harness, pcm, and any other SRT part you can get your hands on to use, generally the more complete the swap the better

i just thought about it though, if you go to a srt pcm youll need a sentry key which, means the key would need programmed to the vin number that you would have programmed in the pcm to match the car, not sure what other parts are involved with making the sentry key part work i'm sure some sort of module to check the key then tells the pcm its the correct key, so it may be easier if you can't do that to use the ES pcm but of course you would need some way to tune it then, i'm not sure what the pcm connectors on the '01s are like though compared to the SRT's maybe it would all just be plug and play, check neons.org, or srtforums.com theres multiple people on those forums that have actually done the swap you could talk to, or even how to's

It's possible, but you can pick up a decent srt for $6-8k if you want a nicer one thats when its $10-12k check the srtforums for one, unless you'd rather do the work then do that but if your getting a whole totalled srt then use all the parts possible for a more complete and better swap
