What do ya'll think of these cars?
I had 5 speed 1st gen Neon in '1995 when they first came out. It was a great car that I traded a '92 5.0 Mustang 'vert in for and never looked back. It was a way better car than the mustang in every way. Not as fast in a straight line, but so close you'd be very surprised and it rode better, handled better, had better A/C, better radio, more interior room and of course got better mpg. Had it for a few years with no serious troubles at all and I beat on it. So, when the SRT-4 came out, I was very interested. Ended up buying a black 2004 brand new and was very happy with it. I'm married with kids so I dont have to have a car that is good for picking up women. I wanted what the SRT-4 really had and that was bang for the buck. Stock, I ran my car at Norwalk and ran 13.6 at 105 mph. That was not a bad start. 1500 bucks later, I had a stage 2 with exhaust that was running easy high 12's at almost 110 with no traction on skinny little street tires. That is not bad if I do say so myself. A couple years ago I was at the Woodward dream cruise and ran up against one of the brand new 425 hp Camaro SS's. We ran dead even. My car was bone stock reliable with the factory engineered stage 2. I drove it to work everyday, drag raced and autocrossed on weekends. I would not have hesitated to drive it across the country. It rode great, handled great, sound system was very good and the A/C blew ice cold. For 23,000 dollars an awesome little ride. I wish I still had it. Best bang for the buck car probably ever.
Hello everyone im new to this forum im looking on buying a 05 SRT4 Neon i have some question's that i hope i can get answers to lol. Ive heard after 100K on the trans that you must be rebuilt as well with the engine. I've always wanted one but never got one because of these rumor's. I curently own a 1992 3000GT VR4 lol so i love fast turbo cars.
I saw two sets of boobies on my SRT4 testdrive in 04...liked the cars ever since.
I had the "it's a wanna be ricer" mentality and slammed it left and right to the salesman; he smiled and tossed me the keys; I came back wishing my wallet would allow it to go home with me that day. Little bastard flat moved out
