Default Viper Style Seat Flaw

Well I noticed a hole in the cloth on my driver side seat on the bottom cloth panel near the bolster by the door. I thought... man! I put a hole in it with something in my cargo shorts pocket or something and just noticed it. Well then on the way home last night I feel this poking into my leg, its some sort of metal wire sticking up thru the cloth. It seems like a spring or something broke or just curled up thru the cloth and ripped it up over the 2 years I've driven the car.
I called the dealer and they have agreed to replce the seat under the 3/36 warranty, now I just have to go in there and show them the problem.
I am wondering if this is covered under my 7/70 warranty with the deductable incase it happens to the new seat too.
Has anyone else had this problem? My car is a 2K3 with a June Build Date and the Viper Style seats.

3/36 only , after that you own it. The 7/70 is powertrain only unless you bought an extended service contract.

Same thing happened to my car. I was actually going to have it re-upholstered. But when the guy was giving me an estimate he said I should try to get it covered under warranty because there was a piece of foam missing. I took it down to the dealer and they replaced it. Funny thing is that hole showed up on mine around 15000 miles, I have close to 15000 on the new seat and no signs of it wearing through.

Perhaps there was a bad batch of seats? I have an early '03 (bought in May 03) if that helps.

I never got the butt imprint thing . . . I do get the weird mysterious light splotches in the fabric. I cant figure out where they come from, but they go away after a wipe with a damp cloth.

..........
Well, the dealer saw the problem and they are ordering a new seat cusion bottom for my drivers side seat. The problem is that there is this red thing that pokes thru near the bolster and causes the fabric to rip. Everyone should check out their seat bottoms before hitting 3/36 on the inital warranty if you want a replacement that you wont have to buy. The passenger side has the same hard thing in it near the door, but I usualy travel alone so the driver sidde takes the brunt of the use. I find it hard to imagine that more people dont have this problem with thier seats.
Ill let ya all know how the new cusion is.... It figures because my current cusion is just about softened up perfectly.
