1st time QTR times Stage zero
Back to the subject......those are decent times considering the car is stock and it's your first time out. I think what is hurting you is that 60' time. If you had done a 2.0 flat or better, youd be in the 13'S.
Keep practicing your launches. I bought a G timer just for that. You can go out to your favorite road and try different techniques. I had more fun fiddling with tire pressures, burn outs, launch RPMS and seeing what works and what doesn't. The drag strip is alot different than the street, but you can really polish up on the street to get ready for the track. Good Luck.

Hey thanks for the vote of confidence. I have a few tricks up my sleeve yet though. The main purpose for these runs were to baseline the car (and knock some rust off myself) I hadn't raced in about ten years prior to this (at a strip) and this was my first time ever at this track. I hadn't done any "tuning" anywhere on the car, not even a tire pressure adjustment. The first run was quite literally right off the the highway. I had driven about 20 minutes on a hot day on the highway to get there, paid admission with no waiting, went straight through tech and they called street up. So I got in line, engine glowing hot, popped the centercaps off, took a guess at the launch rpm and ran it. I knew that run would suck. (14.79) My second run was the best with the 14.10 after an adjustment to the launch rpm and a cool down between classes. The third as I said before was a hopeless 14.79 on a freshly oiled track, but even with the short shift to 2nd, was still the highest trap speed indicating the horsepower was coming back after 2 long cool downs. The car will go faster for sure. I have at least 5 tricks up my sleeve for the next time at the track not the least of which will be adjusting tire pressure. A 2.0 60 would nice. So would a .5xx RT. Also, considering this is more the wifes car I need to come up with more excuses to drive it to get the needed practice time. I only drive it on weekends as need be and only when I have a real need to.
Looks like I will be going to Martin this weekend to try it again. What will be cool about that is; it is a sport compact weekend. So maybe I'll get to run against some other fwd's. Last time I was there, there was a fairly sizeable street crowd, but only one other fwd (a 1975 Eldorado). And other than the Caddy and my SRT, nothing in "street" was stock.
As a side note, the Caddy was running 18's. My '72 New Yorker Brougham would have spanked it hard as I ran a 16.03 w/it (stock) back in '83 with a 440 auto and a 2.76 single legger.
