I misspoke, they are 225/45/17's, not 40's. In that case - I don't know why you are having traction issues, but I will say that the kdw's are very grippy, even in the 205.

The reason I went with 45 series winter tires was price and availability. I got them for 400 out the door, mounted and balanced. I wanted to go with teh stock size, but thye would have to order them and they were pricier. I was acually impressed at how well these worked in teh nasty stuff. - makes sense in 45%. I got the blizzak lm-25's in 205/50/17(read same sidewall height) and they are awesome in the snow.

The RSV's were actually my second choice. I liked the ZR1's better, but I know 2 guys who have them, so i went with something a little different. I'm more than happy with the RSV's. They do look good on a silver car IMO. At leats the rsv's are lighter - i like them better, too.

When I went with the 225/45's for summer tires, I figured I would get a little more grip from the wider meats, but it hasn't been the case. I knew I would get a hrsher ride, but it comes with the territory. I figured I'm not at a power level where sidewall flex is an issue or a necessity. - you aren't changing the sidewall height at all in the 45, Just if you had a 40. a 225/45 is almost the exact same height as a 205/50.

Here is a crappy pic of my car with teh RSV's....

Pretty funny - we used the same shot to show how good the dark wheels look on our silver srt-4.(see wheels are here post)

If it weren't for the amber side markers, I thought for a second you posted a pic of mine. Guess that is our "pretty" angle
