has anyone taken there car to the track? what did you run? i haven't had a chance yet but i'm pretty sure it will run about a 12.5

 

Not in stock trim it won't, more like 13.7 to 13.9 if you get good R.T.s...but after some mods and a Stage upgrade, you could well be looking at those numbers...let us know how you do!!![sm=smiley4.gif]

 

He could get it in the high 12's stock with slicks, I've seen quite a few drop a second or more off their E.T. by simply putting on a set of slicks.

 

I'm assuming he's talking "stock" from his post and lack of mention of drag racing...BTW, I confess I got my E.T. times from one of your earlier postings...you are an EXCELLENT source of knowledge...it's a pleasure to know you....[sm=smiley4.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

I've read of a few people trying the 80's turbo car trick, puting a bleeder or smaller orifice in the wastegate vacuum line. It will allow greater boost pressures without the computer realizing it, but this is very BAD to do. Without the computer knowing about the greater boost pressures, it cannot compensate for this and add the needed extra fuel to keep it from running lean. Unless you know exactly what your doing, motor will go boom.[sm=smiley5.gif] If you want it stock and in the 12's, just put on some slicks.[sm=smiley20.gif]

I was extremely irritated to see the video from Motor Week.[sm=smiley7.gif] They had the slowest SRT-4 or the worst driver ever, 0-60 in 6.0 sec. and the 1/4 in 14.9 sec. @99 MPH. I have seen many SRT-4's run in the 90+ degree heat of summer and the slowest run I ever saw was an '03 SRT-4 that turned a 14.3 in the 1/4 by some lady that didn't seem to know what she was doing. All of the other 03's were running 13.7-13.9 in the 1/4.

 

I may try that if we ever get more than 24 hours without rain. Don't wanna try slicks on wet pavement!!!![sm=smiley6.gif]

it's not warm enough yet, the weather hasn't been that great up here lately, it's been raining on and off for the past 2 weeks, i plan on taking it to the track in may

How well do you like your MP exhaust, I was thinking about getting it myself. If I get it, I think that I will go to the local exhaust shop and get a straight peice of 2.5" SS to replace the part in the MP kit that has the resonator. A little better flow and sound.[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley2.gif]
