Default BOV?

So I installed the turbo-xs h-rfl bov. I have a couple of questions. The bov sounds great but I can only hear it blow off after being in boost. Is this normal? The bov is loud and sounds good when driving hard, I just thought I would hear it blow off in vaccum some, or am i crazy.

For instance the car used to boost to 15 psi and spike at 17 psi in 4th gear. Now it is boosting to 13-14 psi and holding there in 4th gear. Is this a problem? The boost seems to be more steady threw all of the gears than it used to be.

Thanks for any comments.

I am just takeing a stab at this one so i am wrong please someone correct me. The way i undersatnd it, the bov releases the back pressure that occurs when you **** and you intake valves close. If you are driving and are not in boost and shift, the pressure is a lot less and therefore you may or may not hear anything out of the bov.

As for the loss in boost you might have a leak or something else wrong with it, but the installation of a new bov should not decrease your boost from what you got with your old bov.

Hope i helped you a little but once again this is just my 2 cents and if i am wrong or partially right plaese someone correct me.
