im in cali but thanks for the offer. there are about 25 srt4s around where i work and a few use hom... but for me the way i look at it is price wise for just s2 w toys ($1500) i can do the following, S2 w/o toys 850$, ported/polished intake mana and head and bored out tb 300$ (have a friend that does it) those two alone will put me above hom s2 and id still have 350 for what ever... not to offend i just dont see wordslayer as a type to even pick up high octane gas, i see him being to shakey to do so. sorry if im wrong but i can see how not being mechanically skilled might make you shift away from messing with your car to much.

and ive never put 225s on this car so i cant say how it helps traction but my 235s do pretty good .

25 srt's nearby - that is just awesome. I see maybe one every couple weeks on the road.

BTW - you don't need 100 octane with s2 to run HOM.

235's will work too. (I was a little chicken and went with the 225's and now that they are on and I can see the strut perch clearance I could have gone 235 - oh well - next tires)

well its some what cool. a lot of srt owners are douches, its there first car with speed and since they can own every honda on the road they think its the best ever so there dongs grow about 5".

i have a good friend with s3r and he cant hold hom with just 100oct he needs more than that. I hear cali guys have trouble keeping it up but these are just rumors.

yeah i was like 235's will they fit? so they put one on and i was like "yep that will do" makes my roomate (who still has stockers) like retarded when there in the garage next to each other. thats my bigest complant about this car 6" wheels wtf.

6" wheels - wtf - is right - duh on dodge for that one.

S3r does have issues holding HOM, but S2 is much less sensitive. In Cali, land of 91, you might have more issues, too - we get 94 octane here at sunoco, and 93 everywhere else. The car doesn't run well without HOM on 91 octane, so I can see the problem. I run 94 and a can of lucas booster and keep it in HOM 90% of the time I drive. It never dumps me out.

Most SRT-4 owners around here are pretty cool, and most are mature. I have only met one who I thought was a complete idiot kid(but bad enough to make up for the lot of 'em - man he must have been like 24").

that's because if people would actually bother to read the manual and look at the little red button, it's 100+ to run hom. therefor you need MORE than 100 octane much of the time. it's been discussed about 500,000 times now. on a bone stock car with only s3 and mopar exhaust 100 will work. removal of the cat and solid mounts cause the need for over 100. this has been seen on everything from the lightweight car to regular people's s3's.

Gawsh Wally........

You guys just freaking AMAZE me with how much you know. I cannot TELL you how hard all of this is to follow. Now I'm wondering if I do want toys. But,,,the thing is,,,,,I don't have to make up my mind yet, so I have some time to keep digesting information.

the toys issue has some controversy around it as you have seen. personally, i feel the biggest benefit of toys are hom and dial-a-boost.

hom is great for the track, and with w/i it can be held easily with s2. s3 is a little trickier, but it can also be done. so you can use hom without race gas under certain conditions.

dial-a-boost is a major benefit of the toys kits. i don't quite understand gump's comment about dab being useless once you learn to dive the car with the added power. learning to drive the car and having a 4 stage boost controller have nothing to do with each other. that's like telling people that have moster turbos that it's ok to run 36psi all the time, just learn how to drive. it makes no sense. the reason for the settings are for the street and the track. i don't see the need to be running 22psi all the time on the street, so i usually keep it on setting 1 (15-17psi or so). this not only helps keep me from pealing out all over the place, but also saves gas since i'm not boosting as high. dab 0 is great on long highway drives, keeps the boost very low and gas mileage high (i've seen well over 30mpg using this setting on long trips). setting 2 is good for the track if you're on dr's or street tires, as getting 25psi out of the hole on street tires is just rediculous.
