Default Blow Off Valves

I want to replace all the stock abs plastic pieces on the turbopressure side of my '04 srt. My problem is this, i want to install a ATP pressure pipe from modern performance. I wanted the GREEDY typeS bov, but after inspecting the car lifted up on a rack i think the mopar upgrade will be better cause it mounts to the turbo houseing not the pressure pipe..anyone?

Default Blow Off Valves

Many people have it near the throttle body on cars like mine. The waves of intake flow go through the intake, but when the tb is closed, it bounces of it and goes backwards through the intake and make the turbo spin backwards. That is bad...</P>

It is put near the tb because it is closest to where it starts to bounce back. There has been huge debates over this topic, and that location has generally won out.</P>

I'll post pics of my setup soon.</P>

<FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size=3> Well iwent with the ATP pressure pipe and the Mopar Blow"OFF" Valve. My thinking was that the extra air charge should be bled at the turbo before it returns to it, instead of at the TB. That and i heard a Type S BOV on a friends 03 srt-4 and did not like the way it sounded. The Mopar BOV commands attention the stares you get is amazing, even driving in city stop an go traffic. Will Let those know who buy the Mopar BOV that you will have to take a 1/4 inch 10mm deep well socket and cut/grind is down one half inch to clear the exhaust manifold and clear the block. Also remove the upper turbo oil line and move it out of the way to gain acess to the third bolt. After i did this it took me fifteen minutes or less till i was test driving it, beats the heck out of 1/12 turns with a 10mm wrench and there is no room for a swivel socket either. Also noted more top end grunt, don't know why but its there now. My Guess is that when the surge valve opens the charged air leaves so fast that it forms a vacum in the pressure pipe and when you hit the gas the waste gate allows the turbo to over boost for a few seconds before it drops it to factory specs. I noticed that on my2nd to3rd shifts the stock boostgauge would hit between 19 and 20 before falling to 13 or 15 pounds. Was going to fast on the 3rd to 4th shifts to notice or on the 4th to 5th shift, also 1st winds up to quickly to watch the gauges...RED LINES to fast, hate that. Anyway this is my thoughts on it fell free to call me out if you know more on why</FONT> <edited><editID>andybuzz2u</editID><editDate>37924.9034837963</editDate></edited>

Here's my two cents!</P>

I had a hell of a time figuring out what to do with my BOV. I have the TurboXS Type H-RFL installed on the hot side of the intercooler (underneath the car). Not a difficult installation once you know what you're doing. My biggest problem was learning that I had to put a one way check valve on the pink vaccuum line so that the air would still go in to the stock purge valve but not out. Otherwise you can't hold more than 11-12 lbs of boost. Also, if you install a BOV in the same location I did, DO NOT MAKE A MISTAKE WHEN CUTTING THE RUBBER TUBE!!!! That little POS molded tube that should be a $10 piece is over $165 and there is no stock in the country!</P>

Also, I LOVE the sound of the RFL, it is SO LOUD!It'll humbleany little importer revving his engine at you, trust me.</P>
