i just cant launch!
Anyways been going to the tracks, just got my car 2005 ACR basic bolt ons, (for ex stage one, K&N CAI, msd wires and cap, denso iridium plugs, agp wastegate, and running no cat.) Anyways dammit ive been gettin taken everytime i ****in launch! i still keep up with them afterwords but i know dam well if i took them off the line its over. i try to feather the clutch lowered the psi to about 36 (i have the ACR package so i dont know if the BBS really work for the car) but each time i run it either bogs or spins throughout 1st and 2nd. so i dont know. i launch around 3500, thas was what i was told to do, but yeah i dont know. (oh yeah....dudes im a noob... so bear with me)
wow.... lets see you will never launch correctly on street tires at 3500. who ever told you that must not have a srt4. i launch at 22-24 hundred depending on the track/street conditions.
lowered to 36 huh... how about 18-20 for track.
and i have quite a few runs that will tell me that a bog is way better than a burn... so try to stop the burning out and get closer to bogging. and if i were you take your car out to a road in the cuts and launch quite a few times till it starts becoming comfortable.
just noticed that this is your first post so welcome to df... and i dont judge noob status on number of posts but you called your self a noob so that shall be your title untill proven other wise...jk man.

Isn't 36psi tire pressure high for street tires anyways? Shouldn't it be more like 32ish or around there. If you lowered to 36...must mean you had a higher pressure. Anyhow I don't have an SRT4 so I can't really offer any tips on how to launch it, but with just my slow neon a 3500rpm launch smokes my tires. It must bake the tires with an SRT4.
Yeah noob (sorry man I couldn't help myself - lol - but gump said so
definitely don't listen to that ****er. Bad advice. Seriously, though twisted srt4, Gump is on point. Definitely try not to spin 'em - as you have found, once they break loose you are done.
Low slow, 36 is actually not high for streets on the srt-4 at all, for handling. I run 39 -40 up front and 34-36 in the rear. For drag, I run 16-26 up front depending on conditions and launch between 1800 and 2200 rpms I leave the rears at 36.
Oh and welcome, Twisted.

drop your fronts to like 20psi, raise the rears to 44 or so. go from about 1800 rpms, and don't dump the clutch. you have to ride it out some.
or just get some slicks, it's much easier! 8psi in the tires, 5000 rpms, and go....

I want me some slicks - I can't imagine a 5000 rpm drop in this car. Must be awesome, girl...
I run it around 1200-1800, and feather it out, you cant REALLY get on it until your up in the 4s in 1st gear. Thats the easiest way to avoid most of the wheel hop. You dump the clutch and launch too high, say goodbye to your oil pan cause youll crack that ****er like thin ice.
I run 32 all around on the streets, but I have yet to go to the track.
