I dont know what the hell it is. Im taking him in on Friday...HOPEFULLY i can have my new dust shield put on and my power steering belt tightened at the very damn least. Im EXTREMELY patient when it comes to stuff like this, I mean patient beyond what I should be. I would make appointments and just sit there all day and my car wouldnt even be touched because my tech was "too busy". I can see a repeat of this on Friday, but Im really hoping thats not the case.

We'll find out I guess. My motor mounts are pretty horrid too. The amount of engine movement starting up the car is almost frightening. And theres a loud bang from 1st-2nd. Hmmm.....Im lost.

check plugs... if one or a few are bad your engine will jump all over the place. and theres not much more i can say but sorry... that sucks. keep a smile on your face or a bottle in your hand which ever works for you.

Cigarette in my mouth, unfortunately not healthy. I just had the plugs changed probably around 10k ago. If they're found to be bad again, Ill just have em replaced under warranty. Its a horrid startup too, so Im thinking injectors.

Or maybe just a new engine, tranny and turbo.....

Would that work? Probably not. Through it all I still love my little SRT-4 to death. And I wouldnt trade it for the world.

Damn, I check the forum almost every day and then I come across one like this that is already on its 3rd page.
I listened to the recording but everyones asleep here, so I had to keep it down, but it did sound like bearings.
You said when they pulled the turbo apart there was no oil in it? Well there should be no oil on the impellers. They should be dry. They (the impeller) should also have some side play, but the impeller should obviously not contact the housing. Turbo bearings will always feel a little loose on the finger wiggle test, but that's ok. They should not make noise when spun or spinning. The only oil should be coming out of the oil passages in the center section of the turbo. There should be oil in there.
I also heard the tapping. That definitely sounded like valvetrain noise. Why the valve noise? That is almost as disconcerting to me as the turbo noise. I'm wondering if your engine has an oiling problem? Bad oil pump? Clogged passages?
Damn kiddo, if I had an easy button, I'd give it to ya.

That was what I thought on the valve tapping.

I definitely agree with Gumps post that said that 10,000 is a long time for these injectors. I went and replaced every 5k or so and all 4 times(with ngk 4306's) they were pretty beat. Now I am on to denso iridiums, and I hope they last a bit better.

Yeah I just keep having them stick stockers in LOL. Until I finally stop being lazy and buy some new ones.

I was supposed to take the car in tomorrow but I cant. I have work 8-5, and school 545-11. Ill have to call them and try something for next thursday. If it can really wait that long.

This may be way out from right field, but have the dealer or yourself do an oil analysist, this should uncover anything wrong with the internals, metal, bearing going to hell, oil contanmanents, ect. It is only around $30. This may lead you to nothing, but if something is found, it could really pay off. Good luck.

How can I do an oil analysis?? Im not entirely "tuned" into mechanics, and Im sure its simple and I could easily do it if it were explained to me. Sounds simple enough.

Maybe that is my engine making that noise, it just seems to be SO much louder near the turbo than anywhere else in the vehicle. It doesnt flutter under high boost anymore nor does it flutter WOT at all. Maybe the motor is going because the oil turbo went?? Hmmm.....31k on him (in 7 miles) and he needs all this work. Maybe I should beat the ever living **** out of my car.....that might work. Nah probably not.

Ive gotta see when the hell I can get the car down there and still manage work and class. They arent open on Saturdays so this seems impossible. Very frustrating. Eh....oil analysis here I come. As well as another compression test, spark plug change, and such.

Oil analysist is actually rather simple, a friend of mine turned me on to it, he works for CAT and does a lot of fleet vehicles. If the dealer is not willing to do this, find your nearest mobile(if you are running mobile one) dealer/distributer(sic) and drive there and ask for an oil analysist kit, you will have to tell them what kind of oil your running and they will do the rest, it should only take a couple of minutes, and the people at the mobile dist. center should know all about it. But I think you can only get them at distribution centers, here in southeast wisconsin, I deal with Wilkolm Mobile....There should be a dealer near you....Go to a mobile gas station and ask where they get there gasoline delivered from...that should lead you to the nearest distibuter...other than that it is basicly a scringe pulling a sample of oil out of the oil pan, pretty simple. Look in the yellow pages, it might be in there, Good luck.
