Default RE: SRT-4 vs. SRT-8

A few months back Car & Driver did a test of the SRT-8 showing a 0-60 of 4.7 and top speed of 172. Those bitch-slap our SRTs, no doubt.

Assuming the 8 is somewhat similar to my 300C (I wanted an 8 but it doesn't come w/ AWD which was a necessity for me), it doesn't handle nearly as well as the 4 but it's real comfy. Nothing like heated leather, baby. Love that nav and Sirius, too. Oh, the sound system is a fair amount better than the Kicker deal my 4 came with.

On another note, I was shopping w/ a buddy who's looking at a Benz. He's hot for the E55 but the dealership had a couple of S65's on the lot. 604 hp and 738 ft/lbs... DAMN!

Hey guys, just wanted your opinions on the matter of the Neon SRT-4 vs. the Charger SRT-8. Given that if both cars were piloted by drivers of equal skill, which of the two would come out on top overall (in your own opinions) under the following categories:

1) 0-60 mph, 1/4 Mile Performance, and top speed (who would win in a dragrace?)
2) Handling (which would turn in the best time on an autocross course?)
3) Comfort and Utility (which vehicle would prove to be more versatile for conducting day to day affairs)
4) Style (which one is sexxier? lol)
and
5) If money was no object, which of the two would you purchase?

The reason I'm asking, is that I stopped by the local dealership a few weeks back and ordered a shiny black SRT-8 (couldn't resist that 6.1 Hemi) and am debating selling my SRT-4. My logic is, why pay to operate two vehicles if one could take the place of the other?

I love my SRT-4, but if holding onto it is just going to be a redundancy, why make my bank account suffer for it?

Thanks for the input all!
1) Drag/Speed: SRT-8 -
SRT-4: 0-60=5.3-5.6, 1/4 Mile=13.9-14.2, Top Speed=153 mph
SRT-8: 0-60=5.0-5.3, 1/4 Mile=13.4-13.6, Top Speed=??? ???

2) Handling: SRT-8 - All reviews I've seen say the SRT-8 handles top notch and they give it the best rating. No way a FWD car could out handle a RWD in most cases.

3) Comfort and Utility: SRT-8 - No doubt this would go to the large sedan.

4) Style/Sexiness: SRT-4 - Just my opinion, but most would agree.

5) Which I Would Purchase: SRT-8 - Hard choice, I'm partial to the SRT-4. Though I don't own one. I have taken 5 serious test drives with it. (Me knows a manager) Tough to compare a large, comfy sedan with 425 horses, to a small turboed sport compact, with 230 horses. I couldn't resist getting 425 horse is a large comfortable sedan.

I just noticed your sig, too - is that some gonzo journalism? Go Hunter s.

LOL Yes, my sig is a quote from an Eminem song, called, "My Fault". Although I don't do what is said on that song. It's one of my favorite's lyrically and comedy wise.

About the handling. I went my the many reviews I read. As I explained, all gave the SRT-8 top notch in handling.

My 2 cents (and I'm always good for at least 2 cents) is exactly what Post H said. He knows what he's talking about. In a straight line, even if things were closer to equal, the rwd auto would win 2 or 3 out of 3 because its easier to launch. The autocross is not even a contest. The SRT-8 would be handed its head before it's body hit the floor. On a large road course, it would be closer, but I'd still put money on the Neon. If you never learn anything else from what Carrol Shelby has done, it's that light is right. Top end? I think it will prove to be surprisingly close. I do not believe the 172 number somebody quoted. More utilitarian? Probably give that to the Neon because of the better gas mileage and the fold down rear seatbacks. Does the SRT-8 have those? Fwd is better in the snow or very low traction times, every time. Style? Close call, but the Charger just doesn't look quite right to me. Comfort? Surely the Charger. Which of the 2 would I want to drive? Probably the Charger because I'm big, I'd always have the edge from a light and I have no where to auto X here. There is, however a drag strip and I'm a sucker for the V-8 sound and being able to kick the *** out around corners, even if that's not the fast way around them. If money were no object? Easy one for me and still a Mopar choice; a 1970 or better yet, 1971 Challenger RT big block either 440 or 426 w/a four speed.
