I installed SRI in my car and WOW!!! What a difference!!! The throttle response is alot crisper, the car just runs, idles better. Runs better in low boost/ high boost....just a real great purchase. I also mave the Mopar CAI which I will install after the winter, headed back to the states next month, It is hard to do it here due to the lack of proper tools, and a lift. (taking the left front tire off to add splash guard and bottom portion of intake. After the dreaded BOV came off, broken bolt removed and sensor tightened correctly and SRI....car is a MONSTER once again!!!!

And LIL, I am sorry for latest issue with turbo....it has got to go your way SOON!!!!!

 

Sweet, man. Which one did you end up with? and - See everyone, yet another hpaay sri owner - I don't know why people bitch about sri's not working - I love mine. Throttle response is amazing.

Ollie - grab you up a 60 mm throttle body and put it on there now that you have the sri - you will not believe the change in urgency(read:5x the throttle response). And I definitely agree with you about leaving the sri on for the winter - the cold air makes the car a little TOO cold and it takes forever to heat up. It oughtta be great on hot days in the summer at the strip though.

 

Went with the AEM.....I recieved it during a work day, put it together during work then the next day, took an hour and went to parking garage and installed....Love the turbo whine!!!!! and the sound of sucking air!!!!! I can actually think I can hear the impellar sometimes during low speeds (which is not too often)

A quick story....a brand new BMW (I was not behind it long enough to see what type....was a brand new one though). Was getting on the parkway (this is in Italy, by the way) and this Beemer dude just cut infront of me and two other cars to get on parkawy....Oh nooooooo waaayyyy......So I got into the left lane (two lanes) and WAILED right up to Mr. Beemer....got right on his A$$...he tried to accelerate but I was on his A$$....(was busy driving and watching traffic to get type....always watch three cars ahead here) He finally relented and pulled into the right lane for me to pass.....at this point going about 90mph....I decide I am going to rub his face in it....(you know, a 60-70k car beaten' by a 20k car) and I pulled on his A$$ hard (discovered a Shell with V-tec gas....YES!!!!) well, a slow Punto (make) car decided to pass another car at 50 mph (he was going 55) and at that time I hit 130mph and my eyes widened and I whispered OH ****!!!!!.....Let me say that this car stops like a chamP!!!!! I went from 130mph to about 55 mph in a snap....Anti locks kicked in, I almost had to go INBETWEEN the both of them....All that went through my mind was That's it....I ****ed the car up.....but nope, she stopped, I **** and even my passenger side seat didn't come off the railing!!!!!

Will look into that TB also when I get outa here next month....Thanks...

Trust me....When I got to base, I had to park and recompose....I had close calls before, but not at that speed....wasn't really the speed....would have been the impact....One of them, If not me would have been dead.....honest. I just cringe when I read a post from a 18 yr old saying they did this and that....I have been driving for 17yrs and consider myself adept at speed....know how the car handles, know to keep it at that line, right under "out of control" but you can be the greatest driver with the confidence of an Earnhardt......but all it takes is one idiot in front of you to make the situation beyond your control and then you are in a world of $hit......sorry....let me get off my box now.....[sm=icon_blah.gif]

Yeeeaahh!! ok I was looking at getting an AEM CAI or the SRI; is there really enough difference in performance to justify the extra mullah and pain in the *** to install?

 

its an easy install and the way i look at it is eather get the full cai or a drop in. i think its more of a waste to just get the sri.

Short throw doesnt affect ur factory warranty does it ?
