hey guys, my name is mike retallick from vancouver, british columbia, canada, i have a gt cruiser that i have made some mods to. sharing the same motor as the srt i hope no one minds me on this site. i am new to this forum and im looking forward to learning alot from you guys. granted i would be going alot faster with a srt, i went cruiser cause i like the sleeper look, the average joe does expect much from it in a race.
i just finished the car and haven't pushed it yet. it has stock internals, but i am starting to build a crazy motor soon. i took it to the track for the first time last friday. keep in mind i have never raced a car before and ran a 12.87 @ 108, my second pass was 12.79 @ 109. i blew my engine mount insert out. so underload on my third pass it didn't want to go into 2nd gear. the air was great at that time so that sucked bad. i have a nitrous sprayer to the intercooler and to the motor but didn't use. next race day is sept 22 at mission , i will be ready

I don't think anyone will mind you here, it will most likely be the contrary. This forum is just full of good people in general and by far are the friendliest as far as forums go, for I haven't had the chance to meet them in person.......yet. There is a wealth of knowledge here, both in the people and in the many posts....

im in seattle often so i will let you know for sure, thanks for the feed back on my car. all the stuff was a custom piece so it wasn't cheap, but i feel is was worth every penny, tommy at kinetic built the engine bay and it turned out better than i ever amagined. im not sure if the car can go in the 11's weighing 3710lb. im a new driver on the track, so i have alot to learn. the car has alot more power but since we just got it out of the shop tommy is making me take it easy, still have the sprayer and nos to use on the motor, shed a couple hundred pounds, and it mite do it. the 12.7 time is promising. i did leave a request for peolple to tell me about engine mounts and i really didn't get a response, my inserts looked like a crushed watermelon after my second pass out. i ordered the avid billet ones, can you tell me if they work well or not. thanks for the welcome

 

Honestly I have no clue if those motor mounts will work or not... Would be a good question for a more 'seasoned' SRT4 owner... Since you already ordered them you might just have to try and see if they will work for I'm not sure if anyone has tried yet....

did you get a dyno on it? im taking it those were your only 2 runs. with some practice, tweaking and weight reduction youll have a krazy quick cruiser

 

i did go out to the track the week before with large heavy rims and toyo 225/35/18 fronts and 245/35/20 rear. it was horrible. the car spun for three gears, and i mean up in smoke. stopped spinning and started to claw at 600ft down the quarter. i tried everything, it was spinning or nothing. still went through at 106mph. the next weekend ran slicks at 12lbs and still spun through second, but was way better. 60" was 1.95. i did try a third pass but thats when the car didnt take second gear cause the engine mount inserts blew out. the car has stock internals and since we just finished it tommy didn't want to push it so he set it up on the dyno and did 370 to the wheels, i still have the sprayer and nitrous to the motor that wasn't hooked up yet. the gt30 i put on is to big so im not in the efficiency of the turbo, it is a 13 trim and we are swopping it out for a 10 trim. i think this will help put better numbers up and more mph, spool sooner too. it runs great, like a stock car, and the power is awsome, but we will push it soon to see what she has to offer. thanks

hey sorry pressurecooker, im the type of guy that would give it to you if it didn't have a home for it already, tommy who built my turbo wanted it for something. the truth is if he didn't, i would have done something stupid with it like put it on a home built gocart, then i would probably kill myself on, so i guess its good i don't have it.
