ENGINE OVERBOOST QUESTION??
3 DAYS AGO, I PUT ON A HALLMAN MANUAL BOOST CONTROLLER. I HAD IT RUNNING ABOUT 17 PSI. THE CAR IS RUNNING AWESOME WITH SUPER QUICK SPOOL UP, BUT TODAY I WAS GOING TO LUNCH TAKING IT EASY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. DTS CODE P0234, ENGINE OVERBOOST. NOW, I'VE BEEN BEATING ON THE CAR THE LAST 3 DAYS AND THEN WHEN I'M DRIVING GENTLY, THE CODE CAME UP. ANY IDEA WHY IT TOOK SO LONG TO THROW CODE? MAYBE WEATHER? PUTTING TOO MUCH BOOST NOW THAT IT WAS COLDER AND RAINY TODAY? ALSO I'M STAGE 0 WITH SHORT RAM AND MOPAR EXHAUST.
OK, JUST GOT HOME. TURNED KEY 3 TIMES. PULLED CODE 1188 (TIP SENSOR). THEN I RESET THE ECU AND EVERYTHING'S FINE. RUNNING GREAT. JUST TOOK IT FOR A RIDE AND I CANT GET TRACTION IN 3RD GEAR DOING 70. IS THIS TIP SENSOR CODE SOMETHING TO WORRY ABOUT? ANYONE HAVE A PICTURE AS TO WHICH SENSOR THIS IS? THANKS GUYS AND GIRLS.
i had the same problem. get the stage1 and both codes will go away. the tip sensor will start to effect the cars idle, at least mine. i ordered the computer and all is well at 17 lbs
