Default Brake Pads

Anyone notice that the stock brake pads produce alotta S$%T that gunks on the rims? I mean its like grading cheese lol, but only the front. The rear don't seem to dirty as often. Any comments on this? I mean its only a cosmetic thing but cleaning burnt on brake dust off your rims every 2 weeks is a Pain in the A$$.

We dont have shields in the front unfortunately. But the Mopar Stage 1 brake kit with CF pads fixes that problem BIGTIME. I bought my Mopar kit god....15k if not more ago, and I hardly if EVER get dust on my rims. For a little over 200 bucks and a quick install its well worth it for upgraded braking, a better look, and no dust.

You gotta remember also that DCX tends to use what I like to call almost substandard rotors/brakes on new cars. You are so much better off with Mopar Stage 1 or at the very least throwing on a set of aftermarket rotors/brakes.

Unfortunately the brake dust issue is on every DCX vehicle, not just yours [:@]

Yeah I noticed the brake dust problem on my old SXT. I assumed that they kept pretty much the same rotor/ pad set up in the front.

They as strong in the stopping dept. as stock rotors with hawk hps pads? I have heard some negative things about carbon pads.

carbon pads do as well as the stockers. they really shine once they are warmed up.

hawk pads are ok, but they are made of a very hard material and seem to cause premature warping of the stock rotors.
