Default balance shafts

hi. does anybody here know if the srt4 motor will run ok without the balance shafts installed, or does removing them create problems? thanks for the input.

I've had mine out since April. No problems here. You will get a bit more in cabin vibration though.

Not enough to warrant the hassle. But if you have the pan off, or engine apart already then it's worth it.

Maybe 5hp?

I believe you must plug the oil holes that are left exposed when you remove the shafts; otherwise you'll suffer from low oil pressure. That's what I've heard anyway.

Yea, there is one hole. It's toward the front of the block and its a small (~1/4") hole near the bolt hole for the balance shaft assembly. I used a greased tap to thread the hole and then put silicon on a bolt and threaded it in there and tightened it down.
