just traded the srt-4 for...

Besides, the 10K will just about pay off my 40 acres in Colorado. Sometime in the future if you're tooling down state highway 142 about 3 miles east of the Rio Grande river in the San Luis Valley, stop in for a beer. We'll compare notes on how much your depreciated "must have" car is worth versus my appreciated home and property.
Just my 2 centavos.....

What does your acreage have to do w/ my trading in an SRT? If your intent is to impress us w/ your dirt, well, I suppose someone who reads your post might be.
How 'bout we stick to the topic, uh-kay?

The next year the srt-4 came with a limited slip, and I bought one. I love it. 30k miles in a year and a half love it! I love to drive. The car (sorry lilsparkplug) has given me ZERO issues. Yes, I have modified it (stage 1). I have ran a 13.8 (never drag raced before) in Muncie In and still am very happy with that.
My father owns a Corvette. Very cool car. It feels faster than my SRT-4, but my SRT-4 has spanked it EVERY TIME

I think what Dusty was saying, was with the 10k difference between the cars he paid something off that he might not of paid off so soon if he had bought an Evo. Not trying to show off or anything, just trying to show what else can be done with the extra 10k. But again thats his opinion. We all have our reasons.
Oddly enough the Evo is cheaper on insurance also. Well at least in RI it is. Its a lower Step than the SRT-4.....damn you Evo owners!!!! LOL j/k.
Oh and no need to be sorry SilverSurfer. I absolutely LOVE my srt-4....problems and all. I couldnt be happier. Though from time to time a huge *** "sigh" is neccessary in order to release me of some pressure. But ask any dealership, I am THE most patient person when it comes to servicing my vehicle. Even if I owned and EVO and that happened to me with a clutch or something else, Id buy the part and keep the receipt until everything was clear.
But no one raped anyone on warranties worse than Subaru did to the Rex and STi owners.
The Evo, STi, SRT, etc....to each his own, we all buy cars for our own reasons. Again congrats on the purchase. Any other differences youve noticed??? With the exception of the handling and lack of low end like little SRT has?
wow what a coicidinky. I'm not sure if anyone remembers but my SRT-4 was hit some time back and I had planned on getting a RSB Toyota supra. Well that deal fell trough as the guy descided not to sell it. So I went car shooping. And last month I came home with a new Evo. Whee. Simply because the new STI's are grotesque. They had blue carpet on the doors >.<.
And yes the insurance is cheaper oddly enough. Though I got a discount due to it having some GPS tracking system in it if it gets stolen, etched windows and all that crud. And because of the discount where I work, and some kinda promotion that was going on I got it for $24,998. Can't beat that with a stick!

We all know cars are nothing but a money-dump, financially, though I did just get a '57 T-Bird that'll do every bit as good as Colorado farmland (and I don't get a yearly tax bill). Hoo WAH!

It all boils down to what is most important to you. For me, the idea of saving over $10,000 and still having a car with kick-butt performance (aka most bang for the buck) was a perfect match. After all, when you get down to basics, any car will get you from point A to point B and with the traffic in most metro areas today, the chance to really "punch it" is getting more rare by the day.

I dont think his intention was that. He only meant to mention where the money was going to go and why it was a good deal buying a SRT for him. No one will argue the EVO is a great car...pricey but great..period. Were all sport cars fanatics one is not better then another its what works for you and what you want.
