Where exactly is yours mounted dustyloins? The mounting bracket looks like it gives you plenty of adjustments in any and all directions, it's the one that I plan on getting, besides it looks great.

The mounting bracket that came with mine is just a straight bar with holes in it, not much help. I've got mine zip tied (tight) to the A/C line just in front of the fan belt. It's a very tight fit and I don't feel comfortable with it there. Gonna see if I can get the parts for the $20.00 version.....

BTW, I think there are 2 sizes/styles of the GReddy can. The one pictured at Modern Performance looks a little smalller than the one I got and the mounting bracket is "T" shaped versus my straight one...[sm=smiley5.gif]

Just a thought, make sure that the engine is up to operating temperature before getting into the boost. The tappered rings are meant to tighten as the engine, pistons and rings warm and expand. If you are not letting the car warm up that might be one source of the exessive oil blowing by. Also, I used a hose that attached to nothing on my vw, no air dryer or anything. It caused oil to be blown onto the undercarrage, but on an old vw with A LOT of oil blow by, it worked out well, and it coated the underside for rust prevention. Kinda unorthodox, I know, but the car wasn't worth a $20 catch can. You might also want to limit your modifications till you get the oil leak? straightened out, so that you can take it in under warranty. Good luck, and let us know how everything works out. PEACE

I took mine to the dealership and they said that it is the blow-by on the pcv that makes that leak but there is nothing that they are allowed to do or can do to it. I am in the process of dealing with chrylser trying to get them to pay for the oil catch can, just on principal.

other than the mounting, was there any other reason that you don't like the greddy one? I am trying to decide what one to gert for mine and I was going to get the greddy one but....

I looked at the $20 one but it just looks cheap to me.

Well, first of all it was advertised as a SRT-4 catch can....when I got the box, it said "Universal Mounting" (bad vibes already). The instructions were in Japanese and the can had no fittings or anything attached to it (assemble yourself). The can itself is rather large, it took 1/2 hour to find a space betwwen the A/C lines and the fan belt to mount it. It doesn't just drop right in, you have to wiggle it in and hold it away from the fan belt as you zip tie it. At best, it's about a quarter inch clearence.

Now for the (maybe) good news...from what I can tell from their pic on the website, Modern Performance has a different shaped GReddy can that "looks" smaller and has a more useful mounting bracket. I'd give them a call to make sure, though. They have a toll-free line for questions and are usually very helpful...[sm=smiley4.gif]

I agree, it ain't "show material", but if it works, what the hell. BTW, after almost a month, there's no oil in the sight glass on the GReddy.....[:@]
