I have a few dents on the hood of my car, probably from basketballs or something, they arent big and look like i could probably just pop them out myself, does any one have any pointers???

Tough thing about the hood is all that air plumbing underneath. I would imagine it is a lot harder to pull dents because of that. Pointers - I have none on this subject, but I will be listening - that would be good information to have.

BTW - i would absolutely kill someone if they repeatedly dented my hood with a basketball.
( are you sure they were basketballs? - not 2 globe shaped dents side by side? ... imma gonna' shut up b4 I get into trouble, lol)

The most non-destructive thing you can try is either a plunger or some glazers suction cups. If the metal was not creased, you might get lucky pulling them out. Any more than that, I highly recommend taking it to a pro.

mine has a small thumbprint type dent from someone pushing the hood down to close it when it was on the lot. I thought there was a pin that could be like hot glued to the dent then a dent puller could be used to pop it. Stop by a dealer and ask when the paintless dent removal guy stops buy, they usually are there once a week around here.

Yup, an ordinary "plumbers helper" (plunger) took a large dent out of the side of my Dodge custom van after it got hit by a football. There was no paint damage and the van looked like new afterwards.

The only issue with hoods, and roofs especially, is that you pop them out, and they pop out too far, so you pop them back in....and the cycle continues.

Parts stores like Autozone, Pep Boys, Advanced Auto Parts, etc, sell suction dent pullers. They're really cheap and worth a try, dont push too hard, youll only make it far worse.
However, being with all the ducting behind the hood it could be a bitch to get at. I do this stuff all day long working in a body shop, and dent repair isnt fun.

Theres also paintless dent removal companies that you can explain whats wrong and ask for a price. They come right to you, and if they can't fix it, they'll tell you right then and there, and your charged nothing.

With any type of body repair, if you dont have previous experience, DONT DO IT. Just take it to a professional, where you know the car will be mint condition once its done.

Sparkplug,

I understand what you are saying... but I had to laugh... if you never try it, you'll never learn it... you had to have previous experience... you didn't wake up one morning and go "Hey, I am good at body work"... hahaha... sorry, I just thought the way you worded that was a little jacked... no offense... haha
