plugs for my setup
I was wondering what plugs I should get for my setup. I have stage 2 with toys, aem intake, and mopar exhaust. I mya get a few other small things but that should be it for awhile. I checked thru some past posts and looked at sparkplugs.com like recommended. I want to go with the denso plugs but my question is which ones. Thank u for any replys
Ngk iridiums or Denso iridium w/9mm wires....i believe for gapping(psichick correct me if im wrong) you should start at about .042 and see what works best for your car..........[sm=smiley20.gif]

Im coming up on 10,000 mi with my stock 04'. Should I stay with the stock heat range and who is it that sells the shielded 10mm wires? Idol is getting a bit rougher than new, one year anniversary for the ride this week and am going to treat her to plugs and wires.
On another note I had a guy in a 96-98 stang ask "is that thing turbo charged?", I said "yup, all stock, except the snow knobbies" at the next light he said "im gonna have to change some things before we meet again". Big fun.

I was thinking of some the the itl20 plugs. I know a few people were using the itl22's but they had stage three and some bigger horsepower numbers. thanks for the info

the rule of thumb is every 100hp go one range colder. that would mean that +200hp for 2 ranges colder, or basically you should in the in the 450fwhp area for the 22's. s3 can do ok on it, but i was running 22's and just got in a set of 20's. so i am now using ITV20's with a .035 gap. the 22's were too cold of a plug imo, and now that i have the mds dis-2 it's really showing me that.
on a s2 car the ngk coppers actually work very well if you want to try those. i ran them when i had s2 w/toys and used a gap of .036 and they worked great. i went through them quickly, but they were awesome plugs. if you really want irridiums the 20's would be the best plug for you (either the ITL or ITV depending on which you want). you would need a slightly larger gap, probably around a .038 or so. one thing to remember - DO NOT USE A STANDARD GAPPER ON IRRIDIUM PLUGS. you will break the electrode. gap them using needle nose pliars and be VERY careful when doing so.
as for wires, if you use the ITV's then the 9mm or 10mm heat resistant wires that sparkplugs.com has are great. if you go with the ITL's then a set of MSD's will do great. on either set up, i would also recommend getting a coil pack heat shield, it really does work.
