Default thought about this:

What if:

Instead of spending the money on Stage 2 with toys and all, I did something like this. I could still get my wheels and tires if I went this route. If I bought stage 1 and a AGP-WGA, I could then get, from some of the things I read, quite a bit more power out of my stock car. I have a friend of mine who does light mechanical work, and I think he could install the stage 1 and WGA. Now, my question is:

If I had a AGP thing, is this something, with your help, that I could set myself? If I did get it set, would I have to be tuning it all the time. In other words, once it was set, would I have it done and be done with it? I wouldn't go with the MAP thing and boost controllers and all that mess, because I would have no idea what I was doing then, but with something like this, wouldn't I still get quite a bit more ooomph with not that much invested? But, if this is something that I would screw up, then I wouldn't even want to do it. What do you think?

just s1 and wga isn't going to give you the power of s2. there is a never ending debate over s1+mods vs. s2. can you make the same hp numbers going s1+mods as you can with s2? yes. do dyno numbers mean anything with s2 on the track? not really. the curve is the difference. the power band on a s1 +mods car is spikey, while the s2 is a much smoother curve.

i can tell you this too....i had s2 w/toys. i was never beat by a s1+mods car, even when i was on pump gas.

power adders are fun, but getting a good set of 225's actually helps a lot at the track too. traction is hard to get in these cars as it is, and the dinky little 205's just aren't up to the task.

PSI Chick has a good point. Before you go power crazy, make sure you can put the power down first!

its nearing winter, though. What would be the point of puting newer tires on it when it really wont make a diff on the ice or snow...id just store the car for the winter do the mods then springtime put the wheels on. Take her to the track and then let r rip!! Of course i dont know where you live so there may be a big difference in climate. I live in the midwest and its already snowed an inch here. Which is why my baby's in the garage

I say s2 with or with out toys, eather way it will still be faster than a s1+wga+bc. and larger wheels are quite inportant when your hp and trq get up there. my roomate has all the mods i do but a lorenzo tb, different bov, and an agp wga instead of my s2 and he has stock tires and i have 235/45/17s and will eat him so bad from the dig its kinda sad.

its all up to you man, a wga and s1 wont do much to the car and if you put a bc on it too then you will have to fuss with it all the time.

Thanks for the advice!

I have decided to get the wheels and tires first. I just wish I could make my mind up on the gold/bronze/black wheels. I'm having a "wheely" hard time deciding. I WANT gold, but I just know that I would look "pimping" with those. I kind of want bronze, but everyone I ask says that they don't go with white and think that the black would give the car contrast. Decisions.

I have decided to go with stage 2 now, and I WANT to get the stage 2 without toys, but I keep hearing Adam in the background saying, "If you get stage 2, get the toys." But damn, the price is so much lower without the toys. These decisions would be a lot easier if I were rich.

getting a stage 2 or 3 without toys is not worth it. The dab and hom make all the difference in the world with those stage upgrades...
