what should i do with my lemon?!?!
nice post, whitelightening!
Hmmm,,I have an 05. Isn't that a real pisser? You would THINK, getting the newer car, would help insure/ensure (I swear,,,who in the hell designed our effing language and its spelling rules out to have their nads cut off) that I would have fewer problems than those with an 04. Things like this are what reinforces the feelings that I am destined to have life give me continued screwings.
And if it ain't bad enough that I have an 05, I also want gold wheels. Do you think I would have a "no closet can hold me look," if I had gold wheels on my car?

Thx Word, I have greatly enjoyed your posts. And yes, I am quite familiar with your "are they too pimped looking" Gold wheel dilemma, with a side order of S2 W/WO toys debacle. I am no wheres near a closet, and IMHO Gold is the way to go. Maybe not "wicked bright and shiny bling bling" gold, but my choices (and mine is also wht) would be gold first, closely followed by bronze (doesn't go with white? not enough contrast? I disagree. EVERYTHING is in contrast to white!), and black would be my last choice (Too much contrast. Looks blurred and looses definition of the wheel detail b/c of the glare from the white.) Hope this doesn't cause a civil war between the voices in your head, but it's my opinion... for what it's worth.

OK, I'm better now
On a more serious note though, I chalked the 'hard to shift sometimes' thing up to it being an industial strength tranny (visions of mack trucks). With mine I find it more tempermental with downshifts than with up. Though I guess it's never turned into an actual grinding. Third gear is the only upshift that occasionally doesn't want to go, but in the 1300 (OMG this is the funnest thing ever!) miles I've had it, It's always been there.... "in the heat of battle" shall we say. As for the downshifts, good 'ole fassioned dbl. clutching goes a long way. Even though I drive a bit spirited, I never need a downshift in a hurry. At least not as much as I need a "take that you rocket rollerskate wannaB" upshift in a hurry. I do try to remain worthy to my new found SRT4 brethren
With your superior SRT4 experience (you PSI, and also with respect to the other SRT4 Gods I've been worshiping on this forum low these months) does this sound like it falls in with the aforemention notorius problem?? If so will it get worse? Is there a possibility of linkage adjustment helping out at all??

another thing to look at is the clutch. if not adjusted properly it can cause issues getting into gear, especailly at high rpms. i discovered this the hard way when my flywheel decided it didn't want to be attached to my clutch plate any longer.
overall though, as long as it's not kicking you out of gear, grinding, or not allowing you into gear, it's nothing to concern yourself with. this is a very notchy tranny and it can be tempermental, even when working properly.
Yeah, mine will occasionally miss 3rd gear when shifting, but it's not that big of a deal unless you're trying to haul ***. Also its a bitch to get it into first some days but other days shifting is as smooth as silk, so idk maybe the '05 SRTs have an attitude problem? And so far my boost gauge hasnt gone hay wire (knock on wood) and I'm prayin that it wont.
