Default what should i do with my lemon?!?!

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this post so sorry if someone asked this question before but i just bought my '05 srt-4 in July and already i've had it in the shop 4 times (tomorrow will be the 5th) for leak problems that i'm finding out are very common. My husband and I called a lawyer and are making a lemon law claim but the problem is, I love my car!! I'm afraid to get another SRT-4 because i dont want more problems but the other car we were looking at when we got the srt-4 (the rsx-s) just doesnt have my heart the way the srt-4 does. What would you all do? Take a chance on another lemon or go for something reliable? Also, is anyone else having problems with their SRT-4's?

What sort of leaks? I am new to the forums also, and have an '05 I purchased about a mo. ago (1300 mi. so far). I haven't had any probs yet, other than the typical out of whack boost gauge.

the leak issue isn't as common as people think it is. they can fix it, they just need to stop being lazy and replace the windsheild or get in a leak specialist (yes, they exist).

good luck on the lemon too, there's a guy out here trying to get his car lemoned for the same reason and he's been denied twice. a leak isn't a mechanical problem so they aren't as likely to go for it.

My car will go into the shop tomorrow for the crazy *** boost gauge. That thing is annoying!!!! The only other problem I've had is my car not wanting to shift into 3rd gear, and it does it randomly and spontaniously (is that even a word? ) I also looked into the rsx-stype before i bought mine, they are nice cars, but the performance just isnt there. I would take my chance with another srt-4. If you love yours the way I love mine (and i've only had it 4 months) you will regret losing it to something else. . . just my opinion though, good luck with either choice, i drove an acura legend for 2 years and it was great so. . . . .

i'm having leaks on both the passenger and driver side dash...its only bad when it pours but we've already had an inch of water laying of the floor. We did have a leak specialist look at it once (or so they said). We really dont want to get rid of the car so we are hoping they just fix it and all of our problems will be solved! I was wondering if we'd have problems with the lemon law since its only a leak but the lawyer we talked to said we definitely qualify so I dunno. When I looked up the pa lemon law it said "anything that impairs the vehicle's use, value, or safety qualifies as a lemon and water leaks impair its value..and use cuz its always in the shop! I guess it's worth a shot. Do you know what state this guy who was denied is from psi chick?

he's in new york. pa laws are different, so it could apply in your case.

srt4babe - 05's are notorious for 3rd gear synchro problems. no one knows why, but a lot of them are having serious issues with it. the boost gauge happens, they'll replace it, or you can just get a new aftermarket one.

The 2nd most important decision I made about my SRT-4 (after deciding to buy it) was where to buy it from. After checking with the BBB and getting some word-of-mouth recommendations from several friends, I picked a dealer who has been in business down here since before I was born (that's a loooong time!).

So far there haven't been any warranty issues even with my mods. I've blown out an air sensor and had both headlamps crack on me. Everything has been fixed for free with no hassle. I'm happy enough that I'll probably buy my truck from the same dealer right before I move to Colorado.

Yeah my car grinds going into 3rd gear sometimes too. What kind of serious issues can that cause?? I havent actually test driven the rsx-s yet but my husband has. He said it had a nice feel to it but we both preferred the srt hands down. I just hope if they cant fix my car and we do go with another srt-4, that there will be any new ones left because the lawyer said it can take up to 9 months for us to settle!!

First of all, I apologize in advance if I come off too "known you people for so long" for a newb, but Ive been reading the forums since well b4 I bought, so I can't help feeling like I know most of you. I have to keep reminding myself that you people don't know me from
Adam, yet (Biblical, not PHR).

Aaaaanyways...... My first response was with great fear that this was a post about a "WTF is that slimey puddle under my brand new F'ing car" sort of leak. Not to minimize your prob BVG4, But I am quite relieved to come back to find it was more of a "Honey, did you feed the fish today" sort of leak. One sec... I have to put away my flashlight/mirror/magnifying glass.

Now for Amy: THIRD GEAR SYNCRO PROBLEMS!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! where were all these "'05 baaaad" posts B4 I bought mine!!! HUH???

OK, I'm better now

On a more serious note though, I chalked the 'hard to shift sometimes' thing up to it being an industial strength tranny (visions of mack trucks). With mine I find it more tempermental with downshifts than with up. Though I guess it's never turned into an actual grinding. Third gear is the only upshift that occasionally doesn't want to go, but in the 1300 (OMG this is the funnest thing ever!) miles I've had it, It's always been there.... "in the heat of battle" shall we say. As for the downshifts, good 'ole fassioned dbl. clutching goes a long way. Even though I drive a bit spirited, I never need a downshift in a hurry. At least not as much as I need a "take that you rocket rollerskate wannaB" upshift in a hurry. I do try to remain worthy to my new found SRT4 brethren

With your superior SRT4 experience (you PSI, and also with respect to the other SRT4 Gods I've been worshiping on this forum low these months) does this sound like it falls in with the aforemention notorius problem?? If so will it get worse? Is there a possibility of linkage adjustment helping out at all?
?

?

Give it to me staight Doc, how long has she got! I can take it.

On a side note, I will probably be hitting up one of you in the near future to give me tips on profile how-to's (how to post pics, what the different options mean etc.) I need to actually take the pics first (all set with how to's on that), but I have never been on a forum before. I have pretty extensive computer / gadget knowledge, just not forum / post-on-the-web type experience.

Thx in advance, and I look forward to rubbing greasy elbows with all.
