I am new to the srt-4 and this forum...going to be purchasing mine here shortly...just had a question about the wheels...are the factory wheels 17x7.5? I am going to get new wheels/tires, and just want to make sure I'm getting the right ones...I'd like to go to 18s if possible, and I'd like to get them as wide as possible...thanks for any help...

The factory wheels on the SRT-4's is a disappointing 17X6, they should have been no less than a 17X7. 18's will fit with no problem, you just need to watch the back spacing and the width.

Not a problem. Check places like tirerack.com, they have all the info and will limit wheel searches to ones that will fit your application.[sm=smiley20.gif]

 

I didn't realize the wheels were 17x6- I was under the impression they were 17x7. I don't feel like going to the garage to check- aren't the tires 17x7?

 

Tire size is subjective. You can put a tire that is wider than the wheel on without problems and vice versa. I had 205's on my Shelby Z's 15X6 wheels and I had 195's on my R/T's 14X6 wheels. I could have put a 225 on my R/T's wheels if I wanted to. If the SRT-4 came with a 17X7 it's tires would probably have been 215's.[sm=smiley2.gif]
