As i began to post, I realized that u are the same one who is "not a happy camper", so since you have much bigger problems to deal with (like driving a regular neon), I wont bother. BTW very sorry about your horrible luck...
Personally, I changed mines to another cheapo. works like a champ. No need to take to a dealer. I would of just ebay me a gauge or bought one from your local discount and put it in. No secret or headache to change. Its just a plug and play thing. No need to over react. CHANGE IT To on you like

That's the nuttiest thing I have ever heard! A dealer told you to get on the forums! What an idiot!!!

Collective knowledge is a powerful thing. The best dealers are the ones who use the forums as a tool.
Sounds like a very cool dealer to me. They might even listen and be more apt to do warranty work if you bring them a problem with evidence discussed in length on the forums. I have had a seat botom ordered under warranty merely because of the precident that was set on one of the srt-4 forums(my reason was the the crease/assprint from fabric stretching).

Completely agree with post. Would you rather deal with a mechanic who pretends to know what he's doing, and repairs the wrong thing, or one who admits he's not sure and is willing to learn from it?
