Resolved! Water on floor.....
Just went to get a quick dinner.....start the SRT up and hit the windshield wipers to clear off the rain....hmmmm....that didn't work.....it's condensed on the INSIDE! Warm up a while, turn on the defrost....hear funny hissing sounds from the passanger front side. Sounded like a vent down there was spraying water or something. I haven't drove it since yesterday. It is parked on a flat road. It's an '05 w/a little under 14K miles, no mods, driven easy. I had parked it last time and the vent was turned off but set in the defrost position. Could it have just let rain in like that? It sounded like the vent system had water in it. After running defrost a bit (turning it off and on a few times because it was freaking me out) it stopped making the sound. My passanger side front floor board is soaked and it feels like it wet all the way up the firewall. I will be calling the dealer. They seem pretty cool when I bought it so I'm hoping for the best. Anyone ever heard of this? Someone suggested a heater core or hose?
Could be a heater core or hose but not likely. There are 2 other posts on this same page that are about water leaks. One has the word "lemon" in the title and the other says "water leaks" in the title. Check them out, they have links.
I looked through them before I posted but they don't seem quite the same as what mine did. The service part of the dealership wasn't open today so I'm going to call them tomorrow. We'll see. Hopefully it's nothing too big. I don't like my carpet being soaked though! It seems that the rain is letting up for a few days.....hopefully it will be fixed before it hits again. I wasn't driving it so it wasn't road spray, the windshield doesn't seem to be leaking and the water seemed to be coming out of the vents themself into the car. We'll see what they say tomorrow. Thanks for the reply.
I had the "water on the back floor boards" fun with my 99 R/T from the aftermarket tails. That was fun.

I had the same exact problem as you with the water leaks. My car is being filed as a lemon possibly because I seem to have more leak problems then just that BUT one time driving home from work in the rain everytime I hit the gas i'd have that awful hissing sound..it almost sounded like water sizzling when it hits a hot frying pan! It was freaking me out too until I looked over and realized on my passenger side I had water spraying in and hitting the dash. I only had that happen once though. I also have the same problem where the condensation is on the inside of the windshield. I've had my car in the shop 5 times for water leaks. The most recent time I had the car the shop they completely removed the windshield and found out that there were a bunch of spots where it wasn't sealed correctly so they resealed the whole thing. It hasn't rained hard yet so I don't know if that fixed the problem or not. As for the hissing sounds though, I can't tell you what caused that, i can only tell you that i've heard a bunch of srt-4 owners having the same problem. I have read on another post about the drains being plugged so yes that does sound realistic! Good luck!

I hope it's nothing big. Just made the appointment with the dealer for tomorrow. Told him I hoped it was nothing big and he said it's not. Cross your fingers! They are going to dry out the carpet too.
I had the exact same problem. Don't freak out. It is just the air conditioner drain hose, it probably is kinked. Mine would spit water out the vents at me, and pool water up on the floor boards. But they fixed it with little fanfare. Good luck. Make sure they get all the water up out of the floor carpeting and insulation. I would also make them shampoo the carpets.

Had a friend (that I trust) take it up for me. He said they were great about it. It turned out to be some seal at the firewall that was between the heater core and ducts. They used some water and checked it and it was definitely leaking. Said they didn't know what would cause it to crack. They sealed it up and had a bunch of fans and heaters in the car when he saw it. They did recheck it and it didn't leak again. Shampoo the carpets....that would have been nice! My car has the winter look right now...dirty as hell. Depressing. Last time I was visiting my parents I tried to vacuume it out but couldn't find their shop vac. They probably figured it was so dirty I didn't care...hehe. That and my friend was waiting there to drive it home (only person I'll let drive it). Yeah- relieved it was nothing big...after reading BABYVGURL4's post I was a little scared.
