ORIGINAL: Pressurecooker

Amy. What gear and rpm are you going through the traps in? I am right at 6200 in third. I really want to shift, and usually do, but have run through bumping the rev limiter at no difference in time.
26 inch tires are optimal for 50trims and up because they are all about top end and can push that big of a tire at that speed. Stage 3 has most of its punch in the middle, and that big of a tire is too much to push on top end, where the turbo starts to taper off. Plus it puts the car where you have to shift right before the traps, which puts you right in the middle of building boost and recovering from the shift just as you go through the traps. The 24.5's put all three shifts sooner, and puts you right in the meat and potatoes in 4th through the traps. I've gone over a bunch of stuff (slips, videos, spec sheets, hoosier help line, etc...lol) and it became the most apparent during a video we had when psichick ran a similarly actually a couple less mods) modded stage 3 car w/24.5's. She blasted him off the line with the better traction of the taller tire, but as soon as they got up to speed, he went past her, trapping almost 6mph more to boot.

You have to believe that the srt engineers did their homework with the design and spacing of the gears in the tranny, and then realize that they designed it for a 25" tire (stock), and stage 3 was built to be the ultimate performance compliment to that design...
