The tips give a lot of people problems. I finally got fed up with constantly messing with them and took the car to a muffler shop. In about 5 minutes they had it right and they haven't moved again....

I think thats what I'm going to do asap. Seems like all they'd have to do is weld a hanger or something to hold it in the right spot. I noticed today I already got a chip or whatever in my paint on the underside of the bumper. I dont think it's from the heat, but from the tip bouncing up and hitting the bumper. Some reason that tip doesn't get very hot... It's weird, I drove for like two hours and could literally put my hand on the tip right when I shut the car off, yet the other tip was hot as hell. lol

Word, I'm working on my reply with the results on the gtech

Did some runs on the gtech today to see if the cat back added any performance, and IMO results are pretty decent. Nothing major but from what I see there's clearly a small gain from installing it. Basically, it reduces times no less than .1-.2 and gives an extra 1-2mph.

The gtech chart is the best and easiest way to look at the results, the main run in bold black is my best 1/4 mile run previous to the exhaust. The next three are my runs from today (there was also a fourth with was also 14.4@98. If you look at 0-80, 0-90, and the passing accel numbers they all show improvments. So take it how you want, it looks to me the catback is good for an easy .2 overall improvment. Considering the 2.4 60fts a 2.3 60ft matching the stock 14.4 run should make for a 14.2 with the new exhaust again showing the .2 overall gain. Seems like a decent standard gain for a bolt on mod like this. Combine it with a downpipe and results should actually be very nice.

I had the same problem, but the opposite way, with mine the passenger side stuck way out. My stock exhaust was perfectly aligned in every way, but my Mopar/Borla exhaust was a pain. I got tired of it looking like crap after about a year and got back under it to align it and I wasn't about to quit until I got it aligned. It took quite a while, but I got it done and I had to bend one of the hangers a little to get it right. As the metal expands and contracts with temperature changes, so will it's appearance and alignment.

Yesterday after a short drive I decided to check the paint directly above the tip and theres already a chip or whatever! Boooo

I think I'm going to try one more time to get it right, and if it fails take it to a muffler shop and have them take care of it.

Yeah... Hopefully people can understand my logic in the results that I posted... I know that the before run and the afters were all 14.4 but you have to look into the details to see the improvements. I ran like 15 times previous to get a best of 14.4 and only ran 4 times back to back with the exhaust and ran 14.4s every time.

I still need to get out and get some respectable times put down. Rain is here now though so it'll probably be awhile.

And on other notes this exhaust sure seems to have gotten louder since I installed it! Theres almost no mistaking it actually, seems quite a bit noticably louder in the car now. Also I got the tips just about taken care of, most importantly the height issue with some quick ghetto rigging. Looks a lot better and I wont be messing up the paint anymore!
