Default Mopar Exhaust Installed w/Videos

My first real mod. Nothing new to most but new to me.

Got the stock off, got the mopar on, and I'm thinking gee this is easy great. Then I attempt to get everything tightened and align the stupid tips. Impossible.

I tried a few tips I saw online and the tips just do not align front to back they way they should (drivers side sticks out farther than the passenger side). I'm pretty much convinced it cannot but done anyway on the exhaust itself. As I posted before my stock exhaust was all messed up and the way the new exhaust is is pretty much the same. This makes me think its just the exhaust hanger, and I'll have to somehow bend it. Haven't figured out how I'll be doing that yet.

If anyone has any other ideas I'd love to hear them!

Install time could easily be done in an hour or less IF it wasn't for the tips. I spent over 4 hours total which included putting it together, then taking it apart to start over. Nonetheless, it's on and no worse the the stock exhaust, it's actually slightly better because the stock exhaust besides one side sticking out farther were at different heights. Still looks ****ty with one side sticking out farther though.

But enough of that. Sounds pretty good... Definetly noticably louder and deeper at idle. I need to drive some more to get more of an opinion on it, but I'm happy with it. Got it cheap so I jumped on it. My truck was a v8 and I had the exhaust dumped and it was crazy loud in the cab, so everything else seems tame and the mopar exhaust on the SRT is no exception. Sounds great, and is actually decently loud but I'm used to the windows vibrating, ears popping, and constant drone. With that said it's actually a nice change in the SRT. I loved my exhaust on my truck, but the noise never went away. Its nice to be able to roll up the windows in the SRT and it be a decent sound level. I am though planning on the needswing downpipe with cutout to finish off the exhaust.

And oh yeah, performance... Sure felt like it pulled stronger. But then again, who doesn't say that after they install a mod lol. I will actually be running on the gtech tommarrow for launch practice so I'll be able to see if it did anything for performance.

I thought keep everything loose, align, tighten from back to front. any hanger bending should be done b4 anything is tightened up. worst comes to worst hit up a good muffler shop for the final alignment....nothing worse than crosseyed exhaust tips. Glad you like the sound, enjoy.

I had a problem with mine not being lined up after I drove it... heat expansion I assume... after a few temperature cycles (heat up, cool down, heat up, cool down, etc.) it stopped moving. After a week or so I readjusted it... seems to be okay now...

be careful!!!! the exhaust will heat up and can melt the back fascia on the car... I have a nice little mark on mine (luckily you can't see it unless you crawl under the car)...

I suppose it would be too much to ask for you to post a video? I'd like to hear how it sounds, as I'll be looking for an exhaust in the spring.

Hey man, funny you ask because I'm about to make a video here in 30-45 minutes when my lil brother gets of work so he can operate the camera. If it comes out good I'll post it up in a couple hours.

And as far as the tips... I attempted to get it sorted out today, and got the passenger side to stick out farther, though the drivers side still sticks out farther than the passenger side. Looks better now though because before the passenger side was about flush with the bumper. Now it sticks out about 1" and 1 1/2" on the drivers side.

My biggest concern is HEIGHT. And as far as getting them aligned with clamps loosened... They just will not. The drivers side just does not want to go any farther down. I'm getting tired of messing with it but I'm worried it's too close still. Heres a pic... It looks like it's touching in the pic actually, but it's about 1/4" away.

Heres the videos! The more I hear it the happy I am with it! I really love hearing the turbo through the exhaust. You just have to love that sound. I enjoy making videos so I'll have various other vids in the future especially as I mod further.

it sounded great. I thought it would be louder, but that will probably change when you add the downpipe. What about your 1/4 mile times?
