Default kicker sound

ok so here is my dilemma. i got my '05 SRT with the kicker sound system. not to bad but i like to be loud. a few months before i got the SRT i got for my birthday a nice set of subs with amp. now here is my question(s)
1. if i decide to put them in, would the sound be worth it? (i heard some people say to change the head unit but i like the use of my cd changer)
2. is there any way to use the existin wiring harness of the current sub set in the trunk? (it would make my life soooo much easier)
3. are there any SRT owners out there using their current head unit and an aftermarket sub setup?

thanks for the help!

They do sell speaker level inputs for about $10 a unit. You can just hook them onto the rear right and left speaker wires and connect RCAs to the units. You will need to run the power, ground and remote wires as well as the RCAs to the amp, but other than that your set.

A bit off topic, but I just fit the factory AM/FM/6 Disk in Dash CD Changer from a 2005 Dakota into my 2005 SRT-4 and everything powered up just fine. I did have to notch out a dime size piece of plastic from behind the radio. No more freekin' changer under the radio for me. [sm=icon_rock.gif]

ok first the kicker sub sounds a lil better with an aftermarket head but not much and the speaker level inputs are a great idea, i used them in my girlfriends '05 civic. make sure your ground is an active ground; no paint on surface or make a fresh hole (from a self tapping screw). the remote wire should go to any ignition power source (i.e. a fuse that only comes on when the key is turned on) it wont short the fuse if you do it right. next check the fuse you are using for the power wire, if you arent using a fuse you may have turned your amp into an expensive paperweight. finaly check where you ran wires to see if any got severed.

You have the wrong deck then Jonny, because my kicker sub POUNDS with my deck. But then again I have alot more options on my deck than a regular aftermarket HU.

ok im going threw the same thing here i dont want to replace the factory hu. But there are no rca outputs in the back there are only the ones in the front for the dvd player. And this doesnt really make any sense to me

Can someone please help im trying to hook up the factory cd player to an aftermaket amp. Also which wire in the factory harness is used for the rem. wire hookup there are like 3 blue wires. Does anyone out there have afrtermarket subs hooked to their factory cd player. (I do have the kicker system) can i just use the plugs in the face which im assuming arefor the dvd player?
