Default Hey, new guy with a question.

Hey, I ama new guy here as I am sure you can all easily tell. I do not own an SRT-4 as of present but I am waiting for tax return season to pt the down payment on a 05 Silver SRT-4 at a dealership here. I am not too stressed about someone snatching it up because the dealer has had it for over a year, plus it is my #2 choice in color. However due to it's age at the dealership I feel the deal I will be making would more than make up for that fact. Anyway, on to the point. I have never owned a turbocharged car but I have been wanting an SRT for about a year now. I have driven a couple and never really had any problems. However, once in awhile when I would there would be a funny noise at shift (A fluttering kind of noise). One person told me it was "The pigeon going off" I assume it has something to do with the boot? What exactly causes this, how bad is it, and most of all: How do I prevent from doing it in my SRT-4?

Thanks for all the help.

Are you talking about the surge of air you hear comming from the factory blow off / by pass valve?

If you hear a "pop" sound, and your engine loses about half it's power, you've blown a air temp sensor and they don't recommend you drive around without it. It's a free fix under the warranty, my dealer gave me no hassle about my mods, either.......

Its the factory "horse laugh" and it DOES say that in the SRT service manual....just a little pressure release is all. It does no harm whatsoever.
