is my 2005 srt4 a p.o.s??!!
my 33 on hwy was before i even put my mopar cai on and other stuff. i get that when i drive home from college in louisiana back home to texas. i usually drive 75 on interstate and 72 or so on texas hwys. i drive okay, but when i pass people which i like to do often on the back road highways of texas i will easily hit 110 in each pass and i still get above 30mpg.
When the car only boosts to 5 psi with a Mopar Blow Off Plate, normally the problem is a vacum line blown off.
I had the same problem, one of the vacum lines popped off from the vacum harness, and the Blow off valve would vent, max
boost was 5 psi and it would open wide open. Re-connected the vacum line and it was good to go. Most likely your problem was
just a vacum line that popped off.
Good to hear the dealership got it fixed for you.

I live in Texas and was born here so I know all the short cuts like you, but I've never gotten anywhere near your mpg. You refer to your mods as a "mopar cai.....and other stuff". Please define "other stuff" for a fellow Texan!!!!
BTW, why are you going to college in LA and paying out of state rates for tuition when you could go to UT (NATIONAL CHAMPIONS IN FOOTBALL) [sorry, couldn't pass that up] or any other TX college and pay much, much less? Just curious......I work at a university in Texas..........

I did powerlifting for La Tech. It is a good school, I guess. I didnt have to pay for out of state, plus we are on a quarter system, so classes only last ten weeks. If I had to pay for everything, trust me I would have spent my college years in Texas. But I did learn something while I was here, that I enjoy Texas much better and that I will not live in Louisiana ever again, no offense to La residents. Mods; I only have the mopar cai, mopar bov conversion kit, and greddy turbo timer; nothing that would have changed my fuel system or mpg. When I first got on the forum, I was amazed by the mpg people were posting. If it is strickly hwy I know for a fact I never get under 30.
My wife's similar burnt orange '05 SRT-4 was ordered for her as part of a buy-back from MOPAR of her '03 Neon SXT. We took delivery of it 12/04. It leaked rainwater on my steep uphill driveway, a design fault not corrected in the '05 Neons, as we found last year with her beloved SRT-4. They did have an effective fix, as it hasn't leaked a drop since. They replaced the carpeting, of course. D-C/MOPAR has been quite good to us. She loves the thing... I put the neat taillights and the MOPAR K&N-like air filter in it before it's first oil change. It enjoys the same dino-oil my other MOPAR turbo's used.
Other than that hurricane remnant water leak, this car is faultless - it has an overall average of 22.8mpg for now 12.2k miles, with no trips. My hopped up '90 Shado turbo got 26-27 around town, 31-33 mpg on the highway - with MOPAR hop-ups including air filter, higher output injectors, performance computer, and solid wires. It had ~175-180k mi on it, despite it's broken odometer - all on original clutch and exhaust, too! My wife races a couple of Mustangs everyday on the way home, her usual driving being a 50-50 mix of highway/city. She wins, of course. One problem, I suppose... her 'Kicker' sub-woofer should be a requirement... she has to leave the seats down to hear the bass due to the stock muffler's sound.
Of course, I like my soccer-mom's ride - my '05 Jeep Liberty Sport 2WD that I replaced my 14.5yr since purchased from a showroom floor '90 Shadow ES Turbo 2.5L 5sp with. It is now my best-ever car purchase. I have to say that... she won't let me drive her stinking SRT-4!
Stainz
PS Of course, her SRT-4 would eat my old hopped up '90 Shadow ES Turbo and leave it in her wake... that is one nice stock car!
