Default is my 2005 srt4 a p.o.s??!!

i am so damn pissed at my new srt4 neon. its a '05 orange blast color one ... i got it with 1700 miles on it.
day i test drove it it was badass pulled hard through the gears and held about 15 psi
kindaa like the 04' i test drove this summer.

then last weekend i fired it up and headed into town and it fell right on its face at about 5 psi in second gear.so i drove it easy got home and checked all the hose clamps they were a bit loose so i tightend all of 'em

out for another drive and now it wont get into boost and stay there unless i blast it to 5000 rpms in every gear. and the mopar blow off valve bows off even in -20 vacum(previous owner installed at dealership)

on my second tank of 92 octane and the car is geting 16 mpg...not 20 or even 30 like it ought to.

a few days reading post here and it seems the 05 models have more problems than any other year???

fastest front wheel drive production car? higher insurance premium because my car is considered a "performance vehicle"? hahaha
my old 1989 for probe turbo was better!

anyway i had to bitch, this little 2005 is a real let down after my test drive this summer and having it all of a sudden run like high mileage non turbo car.

should i trade it in for a 04?
Jeff

Jeff, it sounds like you bought a used SRT-4, and I hope you had the good sense to get some kind of warranty out of the deal. That's not a rule just for SRT-4's, it's virtually mandatory for any "performance car" simply because they are often driven harder.

As for the MPG, I've never heard of anyone getting the sticker posted "30 MPG" for the highway. I average 21-22 mpg in light city traffic, and around 24-25 on the highway if I stay within the legal limits......

At any rate, I'd be having some "serious discussions" with the person(s) that sold you the car.......

First off check for codes by turning the key to the "on (not start)" and back to the "off" position repeatedly until you have turned it to the "on" position for the 3rd time and then leave it in the "on" position. Watch the odometer as it will display the codes, write them down and either call your local Dodge/Chrysler dealerships service department and ask them what the codes mean or go online and check this place: http://www.troublecodes.net/

Yeah, I got away with that for about 3 months. Wait until you try to file a claim, your VIN will give you away......there isn't any insurance company out there that will tolerate losing money on vehicle insurance, it's their bread and butter. If they charge you low rates, they're going to make up for it in lousy service when you need them the most. You might want to read your policy......most states have insurance regulatory boards/commissions that make the rules, and it's always in favor of the companies. Money (bribes) is power!!!!!

I have an unbelievable insurance rate that will make you all jealous. First of all, I'm 17, male, and this is my first car. I pay $840 a YEAR for full coverage! Because of my mommy's perfect driving record (I insured the car under her name) and the good-student discount, the 17 year old gets a better insurance rate than the 40 year olds! Sorry...I had to brag I have AAA btw.

Oh yeah, you suck LOL! <j/k>

After my last ticket (and living in MA), I'll probably be paying that much A MONTH!
