Engine light is on
I had my wife's car ('04 SRT-4) in for a oil change and new wires & plugs ( TSB for wires & plugs) Drove it about 25 miles and the engine light came on. Took it to a dealer close by and they were kind enough to look at it. Got a PO303 code. They said it was for a misfire on number 3 cylinder. They changed the wire & plug but it still comes up with the PO303 code. They thought it might be an injector going bad? Does anyone have an idea what is wrong. My dealer won't be able to look at it until next Wed. and I'm afraid of her driving it. Thanks, BB
Next Wed?? That's way too long for a car to be fixed under warranty if they want your future business. I would have pressed the issue a bit and told the service manager to put me in the first "no show" service appointment they had (leaving him/her with your cell phone). I've done it before and actually had a call back within an hour!!!

Well, that's as soon as they could get me a loaner (free). I also think there is only 1 guy who knows anything about these SRT's. I also have another vehicle that my wife could drive so I wasn't pushing the issue but thanks for your reply. ( I wouldv'e called the service manager but he is in Mich snowmobiling and yes, I would have givin' him some sh#t!!!!)
Yeah, I've had to wait for a loaner too....it turned out to be a Ram Quad Cab!!!! I felt like I was driving a battleship!!!!! Bad thing was, I drove it like I did my SRT-4 and the gasoline $$$$ was unreal!!!!

Try this. Reset the ECU by pulling the # 21 fuse under the hood for a few minutes, or disconnect the negative battery terminal with a 10mm wrench. This will clear the engine light. Make sure all of you plug wires are on tight and drive the car. The light may come back on, but if it doesn't, your good. Also, have the dealer check the TPS sensor. I threw the same code twice. Once it was the TPS wire wire harness being pulled out. The other time was right after I changed my plugs and wires. Good luck.
I had the same problem about 8000 miles ago...Took it in for a lof and Mil light. They performed the tsb(plugs&wires) like 3 days later light popped back on,dont know exactly what code it was but i had a #4 cylinder misfire..Turned out to be the #4 injector was only spraying some of the time, mostly it was just dribbling unless i mashed it....Chances are you might have the same prob. but like they said for warranty repair like that they should do what they can to get you takin care of.....I know for my case they had to order the injector luckily the local warehouse had one....

Thanks coyoteyz13, flameredsrt for your input. I have a bad feeling it's the injector. The first injector went out on no.1 cylinder after I changed plugs. Why this happens I don't know. Your input will help my dealer locate the problem faster so I can have more fun sooner. (I love driving this car)
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.
That's an easy fix and it costs you nothing. The only problem is the type of injector, hopefully they put the proper Stage 1 injector in it instead of the '03 or regular Neon injectors. They'll probably get it right, but you never can tell.
Ok, here it goes. Got it back from the dealership and they replaced the coil. I drove it about 60 miles, 30 one way, turned it off to go shopping and then 30 miles back home. No engine light but it sounds different than it use to. When I downshift thru the gears the exhaust doesn't pop anymore like it did. I have 15 k on the car and always popped when downshifting. My question now is.....could some vacuum hoses be loose and not throwing a code? Could the stock exhaust change sound? All replies will be appreciated, you are a great bunch of people.
