Dealers don't know what they are talking about? Help with poor performance!!
So have been reading the past posts about troubles with boost levels and gauges becuase I have been having problems. For a majority of the time the car only boosts to 5 psi in all gears but every now and then (like 1 out of 20 times) it goes to 10-15 and holds which makes the car pull real good (I can also hear the turbo spooling and whistling). I took it into the dealer and the said all they foudn was a clamp slighlty loose on one of the hoses . The car is an 04' with only mopar bov and borla exhaust. I read in the owners manual that using less than premium gas can reduce boost levels. But they will return to normal 11-15 once the correct fuel is used and the electronics re-adjust. I think the person that owned the car before me only ran mid grade, but I have owned it for alittle over a month running premium and its still not running normal. I woulndn't have bought the car if I new all this. Could the problem be the gas previously used. Also if I take it to a local performance shop and they figure out what the problem is will I be able to get the dealer to fix it under warranty. Whats the problem????????????????????????????????
Find a different dealer
Check the installation of the mopar bov
Do a leak test (do a search on it to find out more)
+ Check the clamps yourself
Make sure you have good premium gas in
Reset the computer

I had the same problem with my guage, i went to one dealer ship, they said everything was fine, i went the another, and it turns out it was the boost guage that was not reading right... SO they replaced it and now it is running fine... I have noticed that gas does make a slight difference in readings also.. I'd say take it to a different dealer and have them replace the boost guage, and if it is still messed up, then u must have a boost leake...
