Yup, it's a "functional wing". It really kicks in at anywhere from 115-130 mph depending on the wind. Like I drive at that speed everyday........but I like how it looks!!!!!

It would be a + on handling, but might impact, as you surmise , negatively on low gear acceleration and grip at launch. You could get some coilovers, and have it all, since you could then mess with dampening and rebound.

Thanks for the info guys. Functionality knocks me off the fence, it stays. As far as the adj. coilovers, I would probably need to do the front as well and adjust the height to stock? Or could I do just the backs. Actually, if I do both I could set them up opposite of RWD drag shocks. Resist lift in front and drop in back. I still have to get used to weight transfer being a bad thing...[>:]

Isn't fwd great?

You'd need all 4 for sure.

Andy,,,,,question:

You are a research kind of guy, so let me ask you this. Why did you choose the Needswing over the Maxfab downpipe? Also, are you going to change out the 02 pipe when you switch out the downpipe?

I dont have that stupid blade either, it looks dumb and to me serves no purpose.

Andy....one thing Im suggesting. Nightshade your stock taillights, but NOT the reverse light. that would make your car look so killer.....yes. Yes it would.

I choose the Needswings because the cutout will make my exhaust 3" anytime I want it to be and be super loud, and when it comes time for emissions testing all I have to do is swap the stock downpipe back in. I'm not changing the 02 pipe for ease of passing emissions. If I was shooting for the fastest car around and most HP I'd change it, but the install and swap back to stock isn't worth it to me. The DP will be bad enough. If I didn't have emissions testing I'd swap it out for sure.

Maxxfab and Needswings both have pretty much 100% positive reviews that I've seen. Just depends what you want. A lot of people stay with the stock exhaust and the Needswings since the exhaust is bypassed with the cutout open anyways, but I personally prefer the the Borla sound over stock so it was worth it to me to change even with the cutout downpipe because I don't plan to drive with the cutout always open. I know the Borla provided a small gain over stock to begin with so with the cutout closed you would think the gain might be even slightly larger. Though I realize the bottleneck restricts some of the potential.

Where in California are you? I don't know anyone in my neck of the woods (what woods, it's a freak`n desert) that own an SRT-4. I've seen a few flying around. I'm in Palmdale (The F`n DESERT). Oh, I like the wing on my SRT. To me that's what makes it NOT a Neon.

I've seen others say that aswell, and IMO if were going to say one thing that makes the SRT different than a Neon a better answer is the turbo engine is what makes it not a regular Neon. The other Neons have wings aswell, they even came out with the one that has the SRT wing from the factory along with hood scoop! So I can't really follow that about the wing. It doesn't really matter though, it's just personal preference. I think the SRTs look nice with it on, but I'm also loving how my car looks without it.

I'm in Nor Cal near Sacramento
