Only 12 psi of boost?
I just bought an '05 SRT-4 and have 652 miles on it. After paying close attn to my boost guage I noticed I couldn't get more than about 12 psi at max. Is this normal? I thought I should be getting about 15 or so. Also, what would be the proper way to break this bad boy in?
Pay attention to the owner's manual.
Weather plays a major factor in boost levels and make sure your IC hose clamps are tight.

652 miles, break in is over
12 psi is probably normal, what is the temperature outside? Boost can vary with temp, colder temp=lower boost. Also depends on what gear you're in. 1st and 2nd are usually around 10, 3+ 12-14. It depends.
Edit: Forgot, like Dusty said you can also check the clamps, I had boost leaks with less than 2500 miles on my car.

Thanx for the info. Hate it that the '05 is supposedly junk. As far as my "break in is over", do I just drive the crap out of it now? (This is actually the first 100% new car I've ever owned so please bear w/ me on the breakin questions.)
Don't buy into that whole 05 thing
It's way overstated if you look around IMO, there are some issues but it's nothing to worry about. Not like you can take back the car anyways because you're scared of problems other people are having.
You can start driving it more agressive if you like. The manual only states a 300 mile break in, which basically just consists of not redlining and running hard in the low gears. Some WOT runs in the higher gears are recommended from the begining. I started doing wots in the low gears at around 500 but didn't really test it out untill about 1000. More or less you're good to have fun now. They wouldn't say 300 miles in the manual if it needed longer IMO.

Just one note - rumor has it that you won't get full power delivery and timing advance until you get around 3-5000 miles on the clock. The engineers at dodge seem to understand that a lot of young people are going to beat on the srt-4 and gave us an extended, unstated break-in. The computer will gradually give you a little more until you get a few thousand miles in, so you will get a little faster in the next couple of months.
Its okay man i just almost beat an 04 with stage two. there had to be something wrong with that car but dont worry about being an 05. oh btw i have the same boost and i recently got paraniod bought same thing happens to everyone in cold weather.
