Default Something short of an accident....

Well, here goes. As some of you know Im not very healthy at all, and have to drive a pretty long while for testing and such. Well I had to drive almost 2 hours for a blood test that I needed to fast 24 hours for. On the way home I wasnt feeling so well, so being smart and having my friend come with me I figured I would have him drive.

He got turbo happy, since the cars he drives are less than comparable speed wise to the SRT.

And hit a pothole....at 115-120, that was at least 1.5 feet deep and 3 feet long.

Damage:
- Left front strut ground
- LCA bushing (but they popped it back in)
- Left front Fender
- Tire
- Wheel
- Splash Guard
So far so good on the suspension, but thats all getting checked next Friday to be sure.

This is why people never drive my car....except for one person, and thats it. They can get mad and stomp their feet all they want....but Im just too nervous, my car is my life. Now, accident's happen, and he is taking responsibility. Im not mad at him in any way, just discouraged that I have to go through this nonsense for something that was entirely avoidable.

Last night I realized that I was quickly gaining on getting a flat, and that the bead wasn't holding.

I am however lucky that the tire didnt blow immeadiately upon impact, that I didnt blow it on something else after the fact during the next day, or that he didnt lose complete control of my car and total it, or potentially our lives. So for all the aggravation, things could've been far worse.

Heres some pictures:

Donuts ROCK! This is just damned hilarious....it looks like a BICYCLE tire! I laugh at donuts....and I had one....well for less than 12 hours LOL

Geez girl! Glad yer ok. I'm thinking you need to slow down and take some time to smell the roses. Ya know what I mean? I know you weren't driving, but that could have been a disaster. You're lucky believe it or not. Well go get some rest and give yourself a chance to get better. Listen me preachin. Ha! I need rest too for my old self, got a big day tomorrow with my little girls b-day party. She's 9 now.

I would have been sick....just sick....if that had happened to me. I thought only Kentucky had holes of that size.

Now,,,the good news, MAYBE, is that you can get the state to pay for the damages. If you get pictures of the pot hole/crater, then they might pay you for the damage that was done to your car. I'd sure try.

I'm like Pressure,,,,,you are lucky to get away from that little episode in one piece.

Having someone with you to help with the driving was certainly a wise move, I'd set some ground rules with the driver next time before heading out. The idea about getting the state to pay for your damage is good too, I just hope they are faster in the processing than Texas is.

The main thing is you're OK. Looking at the pics I have to think someone/something was watching out for you!!!

Yeah, I thought bringing someone with me was the better idea, because when I don't feel well, I cant even hold my head up or speak, let alone attempt to drive or even breathe. For those wondering, though the doctors aren't 100% yet, something is wrong with my pancreas, and it starts with a T. So Im always way up north in mass for appointments and testing, and hopefully they can cure me. But barely ever leaving my house anymore I figured it helps to have someone with me to drive home.

I (we) are very lucky the tire didnt blow on impact, or anytime thereafter. Its hard to see in the pictures but the bead is right there, wide open, no rim on it. We're also lucky he didn't lose control of the car when it happened. But damn was that the worst noise ever.

Just goes to show you that sometimes things can happen so unexpectedly while on the road, and being alert and safe at all times is the most important thing.

And from now on, no one, but that one person....will drive my car. EVER. lol

I'll be praying for ya. I may come of as crude sometimes and I'm sorry for that, and I don't want to be thought of as hipocritical, but I do know who the boss is and we converse often, though not often enough I must admit. I'll be talking to him tonight....
