I will just give you idea about whats in my car and I absolutly love it. The whole setup did not add much weight at all.
I have: Kenwood Excelon KDC 879 HU
Pioneer Revs oversized 6 1/2 and 6x9
Focal tweeters
Fosagte punch 300 amp
One mtx thunder 8000 ported

It is small, but in this car I did not want to add too much weight, nor did I want to take up too much room. But it sounds great and I think whatever you put in it, as long as it is a good quality, it will sound great.

I'm running 100% Alpine in mine and I absolutely love it. I finally talked my step-brother into at least getting an Alpine head unit and he was blown away by it and it's clarity, he knew mine was and has heard it he just didn't realize what a difference it could make in his car. I'm running Alpine CDA-7863 head unit with Alpine SPS-080A dash speakers, Alpine SPS-170A door speakers and Alpine SPS-690A rear speakers.

I have a mediocre HU (panasonic [:'(]) with pioneer 6x9s and 6.5s amped. Sounds good, but i can tell my HU can't put out enough CLEAR power at high volume. Qdiddy, you said you meant 6x9's when you said 6.5s, so what about 6.5s? You may have heard me rave about how much I love my speakers, so definetely consider them and check them out. WHICH Clarion deck, exactly? Saying "budget is not an issue" and considering a soundstorm amp is just ironic. The only reason to get an amp other than JL, R/F, Alpine, Clarion, Polk, etc.... is if budget IS an issue.

I wouldn't go with 2 subs if I were you but thats only in my opinion.Get some component speakers for the doors(Kicker,JL,MB Quart, etc)and a 10" sub,amp both the sub and the speakers, throw some tweeters in their with a good HU and your set.The only reason I say not 2 subs is because usually thats pretty loud and pretty heavy, and I dont know about you guys but I like to hear the sound of my car and not the subs when im at a stop light.Hope I helped, try BestBuy or a good electronic store near you and tell them your situation.Later
