carkid,

the "other forum" is dedicated to SRT-4's exclusively... however, I must agree with the others here... I have been unimpressed with a lot of it. There seems to be more BS flying around that site (I won't post the name cause I don't want to offend anyone who may like this other site or such... I know other members frequent it...). However, if you dig a little, you can find some very useful and helpful information as well.

if you don't ask questions... how else are you going to learn?? that's what I do....

You'll want to check out a dyno sheet on your car. Then you can practice to see how far the RPM's drop between shifts. You will want to shift at an optimal point between your peak horsepower and your peak torque. You want to be as close to your peak horsepower as possible when you shift and as close to your peak torque as possible after a shift.[sm=smiley2.gif]

i thought i heard/read that with the 04's wot shifting is possible, but is it recommended? as for the 04's, i understand the stock redline was lifted to 6250 rpm, compared to the 03's lower 6000 rpm. so to say that an 04 has half a S1 is not quite as acurate as it sounds, because the stock pcm has to be reprogramed to accomodate the larger 682cc/min injectors. but trust me no matter how good the stock pcm is it can't compare to the S1 pcm.

I've decided to go with the Stage 1 in addition to the Mopar/Borla exhaust, K&N CAI, and maybe an underpulley in addition to the stuff already added....that ought to keep me working overtime for the foreseeable future....[sm=smiley5.gif]

The stock PCM does makes use of the larger injectors. The '03 injectors were too small and didn't provide enough fuel at WOT, which caused the boost to fall off before it ever got to the red line. These were taken care of in the 04's with the Stage 1 injectors.

Okay, so looking at that Dyno chart, I assume that the peak horsepower per gear is hit at 5000-5500 RPM which should be when I shift gears. (I've never seen a Dyno sheet before, that's cool, I hope I understood it right =D) Torque looks pretty steady though, but the highest seems between 2500-3000 rpm. That normal? For the torque to be highest in lower RPM's and HP to be highest in high rpm's?

That's how it works. When the shift happens and it's back in gear you want it at the torque peak. Luckily enough the SRT-4's seem to maintain peak boost for almost 2,000 RPM's, so that gives you alot of room to play with.[sm=smiley2.gif]
