Default Mopar mod suggestions.

Hey guys, just me again trying to bore some more info outta ya'll =P. My SRT-4 is still stock, however, as soon as I get some money on hand, I'm gonna do some mods, and I hear it should be mopar or no car, which sounds great, mopar seems sweet =D. So, what should I do to my SRT-4? If someone could list a few good mods and their ballpark price I'd much appreciate it =).

Err also any suggestions on some decal's? haha. I wanna stick stuff all over it =P. I'll definitely get a Dodge one, and a mopar one, (should I get NOS? ROFL! Oooo i so want a nitrous kit..) how much is a nos kit anyway? They're fun..my friend has one in his kompressor =).

First, a $20 oil catch can, don't wanna gunk up your new engine. Next, upgrade your intake, lots of choices here, I favor K&N ($220). Now that you've got more air coming in, you need a way to get it out.....upgrade the exhaust to a Mopar/Borla system for $330. Finally, a Stage 1 or Stage 2....

Don't forget the MSD spark plug wires ($45) 'cause your #4 wire will fry within a few thousand miles due to heat from the turbo....after all this, get a 2nd job to pay for the other stuff you've decided you need!!![sm=smiley20.gif]

Noooo!!! Don't go buy the Stage 1 and then turn around and get the Stage 2...just get the Stage 2 and go from there....they give you a PCM for the Stage 2 that will replace the one in the Stage 1 kit, so you're wasting money....

As for Stage 3, it's gonna be awhile (several months...)

OOOOHHH okay, thanks!!! Any other suggestions? =D

Like I keep hearing about this "short throw transmission" or something like that, what's that all about? A new gear shift?

You should get a few gauges that the SRT-4's should have came with but didn't. At least get a voltmeter and an oil pressure gauge for it and either the A-pillar pods or the dash pods to put them in. I would also get the Mopar Performance BOV and short throw shifter with booger bushings. This stuff is in addition to what dustyloins has already listed.[sm=smiley20.gif]

Kay, I'll get that too. How much for the Mopar performance BOV and short throw shifter with "booger bushings?" lol.

(err and btw, does the Mopar performance BOV count as a new upgraded exhaust system, like dusty said I should upgrade with the intake?)

You can get the BOV for about $65 (whatever that is Canadian) and the STS for about US$100. The bushings are about US$25. If you get both the STS and bushings from modernperformance.com they'll give you a bit of a discount and you only pay US$8 shipping. Both of these are easily installed yourself (the BOV is an easy install, it just takes LOTS of patience- if you haven't done alot of engine-type work it won't cost that much to have the dealer put it on).
Check out www.dodge-srt4.com for great install how-to's. Have fun (glad I'm not you doing the BOV valve again- oh, did I say that out loud? I mean, no problem, piece of cake!!)[sm=smiley24.gif]

The BOV isn't part of the exhaust, it is seperate, it's on the turbo housing. If you check around on this forum you will find out all about it, as well as checking the link Barneydriver posted.
