Default Stage 2 Installed

EDIT: See second post for updated details

As with most things, it could be a very simple task, but it kind of sucked... Mostly all relating to the STUPID *** HEAT SHIELD. I swear to god I would like to meet the guy who decided to torque those things down so tight... Then again, maybe it's just from the heat cycles? After stripping TWO of the bolts I came online and searched a little to see what others have gone through, and sure enough I'm definitely not the only one. My solution, cut the damn heat shield... Just a slot to reach the WGA pin, and that's what I did... It worked fine... Looks... Well, hopefully I can clean it up some at a later date [:'(]

The other parts, pretty simple.

So I get it done, start it up no problems, check everything out then off I go!!! First thing I notice the surge valve is yet again even louder. After putting the DP on it got drowned out some compared to when I first put the CAI on. Well now it's loud as hell lol. Drive around letting it warm up. After awhile I start getting into boost a little, and then I notice it takes MUCH less throttle and boost to accelerate than it did. I would usually hit 0-5psi stop light to stop light when I didn't feel like driving slow, now for the same acclerationg feel it takes 10-0. Part throttle acceleration is hugely improved. Even more boost to play with without having to go wot, it's great.

Then finially it came time to open it up, I do a few rolling runs first and it felt GREAT! Finially get to a spot to get on it from a stop, so I hit it and the tires light up, hit second and DAMN I get thrown back into the seat as the tires are spinning like crazy and the speedo jumps to 60. Second gear feels awesome even as it's spinning all the way through, it really pushes you back into the seat. Needless to say the butt dyno is very happy. I need to adjust the WGA and hopefully get alittle more out of the tops gears, which still felt very strong.

Also, I heard what I think may be a vacume leak! Just a subtle random squeak squeak at idle. I didn't zip tie the vac lines like it says, so I need to get that done!

Overall, very happy... Though still pissed off at the HEAT SHIELD [:@]

Default RE: Stage 2 Installed

I had some questions about the WGA but I took it upon myself to just go out and adjust the thing... It was at around 5, and now it's closer to 4... I need to check it out again, I might adjust it one more time and see how that goes.

The difference... HUGE! WOW... I had no idea it would make such a difference. I mean, I was happy with it the first time around, but after this adjustment it really feels amazingly much more torquey.

Also, I did my first WOT shift! First try, and it went smooth... 3rd to 4th, damn that feels so good! I saw out of the corner of my eye a nice spike as it threw my head back. So of course I had to try that again! 3rd to 4th again - hit it, and stay on it, try for fifth and no dice lol.

All I can say is I'm very happy with my results so far. It's going to be hell having to think about it all day at work. I'll probably do one more adjustment on the WGA and hopefully I'll be done with it all and get those vacume lines zip tied and try to clean up the heatshield some.

Yep, zip ties will be your friend. I have been adjusting my WGA for a over a week now. I'm at 5½mm now, and I need to adjust it down one more step. That should put me about 5mm even. Yea, what a difference a little adjustment makes. I'm even getting better at the R&R of the upper heatshield. Took me less than a hour for the last adjustment.
