Default engine malfunction!!!

I nearly passed out today when I started my car and the buzzer went off. I looked at my gauges and it was the malfunction light. I still don't know what the problem is. I didn't take it in right away because of my AEM intake. I know that they will tell me that the intake is what is messing it up.

I have 2152 miles on it and I have added the $20 catch can and the AEM short ram intake. That is all I have done to it. I have never seen anyone else say that they have had problems with their aem intake, so I don't know what the problem could be.

Also, I read the owners manual and I was suprized at what it said, I cannot quote exactly what it said, but I took it to say that "as long as the light is not flashing, you are supposed to drive it like you always do for a couple of days and if it is still on, then take it in..." Like I said, I may have interpereted that wrong, but that is what I took it to say. As soon as I get over being lazy, I will run out to my car and quote exactly what it says for everyone.

Any help as to problems you have had would be great.

Also, I disconnected the battery cable for one minute to reset the computer and see if the light would stil come back on, and so far it hasn't. :-) Hopefully it won't come back on.

You live not too far from me and lately it's been rain, rain, and more raiin and humidity...do you park you car outside? Our fire alarms at the university I work at have been going off like crazy. It's always a sensor problem with those things....with the SRT-4, I dunno....I'd be at the dealer, TOMORROW, just to be safe.....shouldn't cost ya nothin....[&:]

It has been raining ALOT... If the light comes back on I will take it down there immediatly, I just did not want it to be something simple, like humidity, and have them start griping at me because of my intake.

They would have to prove that the AEM CAI caused it and I got my money on the fact that they can't.[sm=smiley2.gif]

make sure to check all the lines going into the intake and check the hose clamps and everything. If you did everything according to the directions you shouldn't have any problems. As far as the catch can, just make sure there are no leaks. I heard that if the clamps are not tight then you will idle at higher than normal idle rpms. I have both mods and haven't had any problems(knock on wood!) I would probably take it in to the dealer and have them look at it. One thing that I did was everytime I put a part on I went to the service guy and showed him what a good job I did and had no problems. The service guy here is really cool and I think that as long as you do it right and show them they will be less likely to burn you on your mods.
