Default RE: warranty????

right...and that's why i got kicked out of a dealer with s2 on my car, and people are getting their warranties restricted for a mopar bov and stage 1. hell i even know one person that the dealer tried to restrict his warranty because he got new tires. claimed that going through tires that fast proved abuse so his warranty should be restricted. never bothered to think that he just didn't like the stock tires and got wider rims.....

what people don't realize about all of this is that as far as the dealerships and mother mopar are concerned, mopar performance parts ARE aftermarket. they are not considered in house upgrades like trd is for example. it's silly to make the assumption that just because it's mopar performance it will be fine with the warranty, it's been shown many times that's not the case. like i said, if you care about your warranty that much you shouldn't be modding. modification and warranty do not belong in the same sentence, especially with dodge. you can't expect to change parts on the car to a aftermarket ones (yes that includes mp) and have the parts covered under warranty. it doesn't work like that. dodge is not our pit crew. if a certain dealer is fine with modifcations and will work with you, then great you found that dealer that everyone else is looking for. unfortunetly many dealers are not like that, so it's important to make sure of the district manager's opinion on things. yes, i said district manager, not service manager. the service manager is not the one that has final say on warranty work.

i actually don't think that posts answers anything about warranties...all it says is talk to your dealer and let them decide what you can or can't do to your car to keep your warranty intact. if you care that much about your warranty you shouldn't be modding the car...it's that simple. you can't expect to throw a wga and mbc in there, run 19psi, blow your piston rings and expect dodge to fix it under warranty. that's how we got into this problem with warranties in the first place.........

you gotta pay to play
Actually it does answer all questions about mods and warranty and here's the parts that sums it all up best, in DCX's own words even, "Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep vehicle and parts warranties are voided if the vehicle or parts are used for competition. The addition of performance parts does not by itself void a vehicle's warranty. However, added performance parts (parts not originally supplied on the vehicle from the factory) are not covered by the vehicle's warranty, and any failure that they may cause is also not covered by the vehicles warranty."
