Default coilovers

I am think of getting either the stage 2 or stage 3 coilover kit thru mopar. The stage 2 kit says 0-30mm but on the stage 3 it does give the drop values. If anyone has either plz show pics or if anyone knows how much more the stage 3 kit drops the car let me know plz.

The stage 2 and stage 3 are the same strut and spring with the exception that the s3 gives you adjustable rebound via the top of the strut mount (i.e.- the drop is the same).
BTW, the tests on the various project cars have shown that the car's handling is pretty much the same throughout the adjustment range, so unless you're a super-tweaker and can actually tell the difference you can save yourself a few hundred bones.

I have the stage 2 and have posted a pic of my car with the settings lower than the lowest factory settings on the stage 2. If I could do it again(or sell my stage 2's) I would of gotten the stage 3 because with going lower than the lowest and not being able to stiffen the shock I think it is a little more stress on the CO's than recommended. According to mopar stage 3 is more adjustable over what stage 2 already is. I haven't seen any real data that shows an improvement of the 200 dollar difference between 1 and 2 but I would recommend stage 3 just because of the damper adjustments. I haven't seen a price on the tokico adjustable shocks(illumina series) for the srt-4 but I am willing to bet it's close to the same price than if I just bought stage 3 to begin with. I already have the stage 2 co's installed so it's double pain since I have to remove all of them just to make that upgrade.

How is the ride quality compared to stock? Is it extremely bumpy with the Stage 2? I had and 01' Neon R/T with springs and it was extremely bumpy with great handling.

you can't compare springs to co's, they ride completly different.

i would honestly suggest taking a look at the tein co's before spending the money on the mopars. they have the same features, give a more comfortable ride due to spring rates, and are cheaper.

I went with the Mopar S3R's dual adjustable coilovers (separate rebound and compression controls). They are pricey, but the ride is very nice, around town I have the stiffness set about medium-low on the compression side and medium on the rebound. I'm also running 450lb springs in the front and 350lb springs in the rear, along with the "helper" springs. Believe it or not, the car rides smoother than when I had the hotchkiss lowering springs... and the handling, well... I have yet to find the "breaking point" in a corner with the coilovers. But then, I only got to run them for a couple of weeks before I blew the engine...

I have plenty of experience with different suspension set up's since i've gone through 4 haha. I currently have Tein SS coilover's and I absolutely LOVE them! The quality of the ride is as close to stock as possible, 32 way adjustable dampening and the height adjustablity are ALOT better then either of the Mopar stg c/o's. I highly recommend them.

I purchased the Mopar Stage 2 CoilOvers already as I received an excellent deal on them new from my local dealership as someone had ordered them and then didn't have the money for them. The dealership wanted to get rid of them so offered me a deal I couldn't refuse. I originally planned on getting the stage 3s. That's why I ask how the ride quality is. I have read many posts from several people that say they ride close to stock. I won't be installing mine till spring and was debating to selling the stage 2 and buying the stage 3 if there is a big enough difference. I seen a couple of posts from stage 3ers that they ride there c/o's close to where the stage 2 are at anyway so just to save the money and go with the stage 2's. I just don't want my ride to be bumpy like my R/T was for my 5 yr olds sake. When I hit a bump and he is sleeping I just picture that little guys neck breaking. Please those of you with the stage 2's please give me feedback!!
