haha yea 20psi on the stock fuel system is NOT a good idea!!!!

launching on this car is tricky....go from low rpms (like 2k max) and feather it. get some lca bushings, that will help a lot as well.

Actually I ran up to 22psi (dropping to 16psi @6k rpm) on the S1 Injectors (I had an 03) with no other fuel mods and stayed rich off the chart ( < 10:1) for practically the entire RPM range. I finally ended up installing a D-Tec so I could bring it back to around 11:1. Then I also added water injection and a RRFPR w/ return line, but never got a change to fully tune it on the dyno before going big turbo. I would imagine, however that the S1 fuel injectors were probably nearly maxed out, so it wouldn't be a good idea to run around like that all of the time. However I usually only ran that much boost at the track.

As for launching, pick up some slicks (26x6 or 24.5x8) and a 2-step and launch at 4000+ rpm with your foot on the floor Actually, on street tires, I had the 2-step set at 2500 and would get on it just enough to hear the 2-step kick in. Then when I'd launch I'd drop the clutch, wait for the car to move then start rolling in on the throttle (usually I'd not hit WOT in 1st). Then I'd short-shift to 2nd @ 5500 rpm, backing off the gas and then roll back into it after shifting to 2nd (in 2nd I hit WOT about 1/2 way through), then WOT shift to 3rd and also into 4th. This netted me low 13's with an average 60' of 2.2 on street tires.

from colorado springs, yeah the boost does not stay at 20 psi it will hit and gradually start to come down to 18-16. the thing is in fourth it will hold 20 damm near to red line. yeah stg 1 '04 the fuel system should be plenty up to 325-350hp right?

see that's where people need to specify. 22psi spike dropping to 16 is not running 22psi. when someone says they're running 20psi i'm assuming that they're HOLDING 20psi.

Ok let specify its holds 20psi for a bit, it doesn't go to 20 then back down to 16 faster than ****, so no it doesn't boost spike i know what that is

I've yet to see a stock turbo car actually hold more than 16~17 to redline. I think the stock turbo is just too small to provide that much air.

yeah from what I hear anything after 20 is wasted hot air on the stock turbo. Have ypu ever in 4th gear been able to hold 20?
