8.8:1 I bumped up the compression a little (stock is 8.1:1) to help the turbo spool sooner. My goal is to have the GT3076R turbo spooling about like WhiteMnt's Stage 3 turbo car (which spools about like a stock turbo car).

There's actuall a few things being done to get the turbo to spool as quick as possible.

NRGY Race Ported Head
Compression increased to 8.8:1
Crane #14 Cams ("turbo grind")
Short Tubular Exhaust (Turbo) Manifold
Water to Air aftercooler (reduced amount of piping & intercooler volume)
Custom Short Runner Intake Manifold

You my friend, are amazing, wish I was in AZ to even just sit and STARE at this project. The paint looks killer!! I really like it. I thought it would be alot lighter than it is. Probably by the paint chip that you posted, or that I found...one or the other.

Yes post vids as soon as humanly possible.

ETA is next week for everything back together?

Well next weekend the engine will be in. But after that it goes over to MetalMan's shop, a local fabricator that'll make a new tubular (short tube) turbo manifold, a new Water to Air Aftercooler, a new intake manifold, new pressure pipes and a new CAI and possibly some other minor things. The idea is to max out the GT30 turbo. If it spools quick enough, I may just swap up to the GT35 turbo... hmm 500-550 whp on pump gas anyone?

After this latest round of mods, I'l have about 40-45k into the car including the price of the car (bought new in May '03). Most of the general mechanic work I did myself, so if someone were to duplicate this without the mechanical know how, therefor paying someone else to do the work, it could easily cost twice as much.
